Overview

In Scripture, wisdom is portrayed as a most important treasure, something to be sought after with consistent discipline. We, as Christians, tend to think of wisdom as something to be attained -- an ideal to which we aspire. Charles Stanley contends that genuine wisdom is evidenced in how we live. The truly wise person is one whose values, perspectives, career goals, and daily decisions are all shaped by the wisdom found in Christ.

Choosing to live according to Biblical precepts is a lifestyle foreign to the worldly patterns among which we live. Inevitably, there will be clashes between the wisdom of God and that of the world. Dr. Stanley teaches how to apply God's wisdom as we handle finances, relate to others, care for our physical health, and carry out day-to-day duties. This significant volume presents a way of living that embodies wisdom from above.

    READ THIS BOOK IN 24-HOURS!

The reason I was so engrossed in this book that I virtually 'burned the midnight oil' reading it was because it was very DEEP! Some of the situations detailed are things that I've personally encountered in my life. From this book and the bible passages quoted, I've learned about wisdom, basically Godly wisdom, and the blessing to receive from being a wise person. I also learned that wisdom from the world's viewpoint is very unwise and deadly. I highly recommend reading this book. The main thing I've taken note of and to apply in my personal life is the wisdom of friendships, especially the type of people to AVOID.
