    Short but interesting

An interesting story. Thought it might have been one those free stories than is actualy a prelude to a pay series. Unfortunately it wasn't because I would definitely pay to read more about Wanderer.

    Good

"Wanderer" is a long short story at 90 Nook Tablet pages. I liked the combination of the supernatural and post-war/apocalypse setting, as it is described in this novella.

The Wanderer lives in a dark and dangerous time and place. He has an encounter with a mysterious person while camping overnight in the wilds of Russia. Later, while recounting his experience to a friend, Wanderer realizes why it was so strange.

At the end, the reader is left to decide what really happened on the night in question. Are there guardian angels that watch over people? Do ghosts help the living? Was it just another traveler that he met?

The author could have tried to answer the questions in the form of a "twist" ending. Thankfully, this did not occur here. That is why I gave this story four stars rather than three.

"Wanderer" is worth the read. I would consider paying a small amount to read other works by this author, based on this story. An expanded history of this character and his world could be interesting to me.

Not bad... can make you think.

Over all it wasn’t too bad of a book for it being free and it was a fast read. In just thinking about what it might be like to live a life of destitute, fear and longing for normality and having to think of your life as a today only and possibly tomorrow manner would be exhausting. This story does speak to how powerful the need to conform to your environment can be when faced with death and pain on a daily basis. A lesson we all can learn from this story is how important having a positive outlook and take responsibility for our own actions can be. That’s something we as a civilization need to take responsibility for. We keep blaming others when we need to mind our own business first.

I could totally see Kevin Costner as the Wanderer. A man of pea

I could totally see Kevin Costner as the Wanderer. A man of peace; he has the diplomacy and the patience to relate to different people. On second thought, he's more like Brian Williams, the NBC news anchor. I kept writing but kept deleting thinking I'm giving too much away. Rather you enjoy science fiction or not so much, just read this. It'll start you thinking; which is a good thing. Yes, highly recommend this Free story.
