There's so much more than you expect....

    My Review:
I loved this novella. What a fabulously romantic story. I liked that this book wasn't all about the conflicting emotions that Cody is going through...although he does have them. I liked that he was 40 years old and is mature enough to accept that his feelings for Sam are just the way things are. No, he's never been drawn to a man before, but that's only because he never met Sam before.

These guys are two alpha males. They work construction in Vegas and are everything that you'd consider to be a man's man, even Sam although he's already come out of the closet as bi-sexual. If there are any worries about this new relationship, they really fall under the context of where these guys work and not wanting this to hurt their respective businesses.

I love the 1 Night Stand books, because they are short and about a highly charged sexual relationship which then develops into an HEA. It provides a fantastic little romantic escape into a book. I liked that in this one, the guys knew each other before and have been drawn to each other, although neither was aware of the other's feelings. The epilogue in this one was just perfect. I love the insight into Cody and Sam's HEA! Just a great little read!

Ann Mayburn has given me another book to add to my keeper list. I loved this book.

Sam and Cody are fantastic together. Both are older men with that wonderful Alpha attitude. It’s wonderful that even though they are both Alpha you don’t get them trying to one up each other. They work towards what they want together. I really enjoyed their budding relationship. To see two men who obviously lust after each other and want to take it to that next level was great.

I feel the plot was character driven and done very well for a short story. The story is driven by the fact that these two men want each other and are willing to get out of their comfort zone and do that, no matter what society may say. Both me are sexy, hardworking and so worthy of the love they want to give and to receive in return. This isn’t only about sex, though it is how their romance gets expressed. I’d definitely love to see this story expanded into a sequel. Reason is, I feel there is more story to tell between the two heroes and it would be great to see it.

This is my first m/m story by this author and let me tell you, it won’t be my last! The story is pretty short, but it certainly packs a lot…Cody is very uncertain of his feelings for Sam, especially because they are working together. They get set up by the infamous 1 Night Stand services, they are both hesitant at the beginning but you can tell they really care for each other, they are so sweet and tender with each other but they also have a ‘bedsheets going up in flames’ kind of night. Get ready to read a hot quickie, I also love the epilogue, it sums up quite a bit of their relationship.

    Good but short...

Good story. I would have loved about 200 more pages.
