Overview

Kyril. Marko. Semyon. Brothers like no other, sharing an ancient blood bond and descent from Russian wolves. Sworn to lead the Pack of St. James and defend the English crown, their seductive charm is legendary among the women of London. But no one knows of the supernatural powers that raise them far above the ranks of mortal men. In WANTON, the second book of her compelling trilogy, Noelle Mack presents Marko's story. . .

A Dangerous Pleasure

In the year 1816, the Pack of St. James meets in secret in their London lair. An unknown assailant has begun to prey upon the women who consort with the men of the Pack--two have already died in mysterious ways and a poisoned communication threatens still more. With Kyril Taruskin and his love Vivienne away in the far north, attending to the clan's business in the Russian port of Archangel, his brother Marko begins to investigate--and finds the trail leads to a scandalous beauty known only as Severin.

One of the victims was Severin's half-sister, but that alone is not enough to explain her intimate knowledge of the strange case. Well aware how a clever woman can hide more than she reveals, Marko employs all his powers of sensual persuasion, barely able to resist the allure of her amber eyes and softly seductive voice. He has never been outwitted by a woman. But Severin is different from all the rest--very different--and loving her is a dangerous game indeed. . .

    Not So Fierce

I really wanted to like this book but found it to be lacking in several aspects. It has a nice start with a sexy carriage ride and then a spicy bedroom romp, but I'm not sure what happened afterwards. Upon leaving Severin's home, Marko finds the dead body of a local whore who is wearing a locket containing a symbol of the local pack. From here the story just gets boring. A lost girl is enslaved, more murders occur and then everything works out. It just wasn't very intense in my opinion. I probably won't be reading the rest of this series.

This WANTON tale starts off WILD, hot and sexy

In 1816 London, the members of the Pack of St. James are concerned with the recent murders of two women who were seen with the Pack¿s men. The Pack also received a heinous message warning them more fallen women who are seen with them will die. Since leader Kyril Taruskin and his be loved Vivienne are in the WILD of the Russian port of Archangel, his brother Marko investigates.--------------- His inquiries lead Marko to Severin, whose half-sister was a victim. She seems to know too much intricate details to satisfy Marko of her innocence. However he knows immediately she is clever and brilliant, and her allure is overpowering. Still he is not a Pack leader, who succumbs easily to a siren. When he tries to use his sensual skills to gain the upper hand and learn the truth, she turns up the heat. Soon he realizes to keep her safe he must not be seen with this scandalous woman whom he loves---------------------- This WANTON tale starts off WILD, hot and sexy as Marko and Severin are in instant heat for one another. However, the whodunit takes over the story line rather quickly as it should with lives at stake including that of Severin. Thus fans will appreciate this fine historical mystery with the right amount of romance enhancing Marko¿s desperate inquiry to catch a serial killer so that he and his soulmate can love one another for a long lifetime.---------- Harriet Klausner
