By reading the classics you can not only enjoy a nice style and interesting storyline but also find answers to many life questions. I advise everyone to read this book.

The work is very long and will take time to get into the story and get the large cast of characters that revolve around the two central figures straight in your mind, but it is worth every page. The edition I read was 3,891 pages. Tolstoy paints a vivid canvas of life in Russia among the different classes of people as Napoleon moves in and out of their lives. Along with using historically accurate Russian personages as he reflects on "Mother Russia" fifty years prior to the books writing.

The Nook version of W&P is a couple of the best dollars you will ever spend. It takes time and patience, but there is a reason that this book is considered one of the best ever written.
Nook's e-edition includes translation for the French phrases, which othere e-editions may not.
While the book is surprisingly easy to read, I bought the Sparks Notes as well...they proved to be helpful in the beginning with a list of the various Russian names of each the main characters and a brief synopsis of each section.

War and Peace offered a new kind of fiction, with a great many characters caught up in a plot that covered nothing less than the grand subjects indicated by the title, combined with the equally large topics of youth, marriage, age, and ...
