Nice Balance of Romance and Action!

Cynthia Sax pens an enticing conclusion to her Barbarian Claims series in Warlord’s Mercy.

The clone, Tolui, has source material from the father of Warlord’s Kahn, Murad and Berke. Believing the scientists, Tolui knows clones are destined to live a life of solitude without a mate. Everything changes the moment Tolui sets eyes on Lea, a human. Tolui knows he has found his one and only but wonders what Lea will think when she discovers what he is. At the same time, Lea does not understand her instant attraction to Tolui. But, she hopes that the fierce warrior will protect her from the various threats on Chamele 4. Although Tolui is a powerful warrior, his doubts about being loved make him a compelling character. Throughout, Lea gently works on Tolui’s self-deprecation by allowing him to see what she sees, her special one-of-a-kind man, which I absolutely loved about her character. Tolui and Lea’s sexual chemistry sizzles, and their bedroom play is sensual and hot. I was especially pleased that Tolui finally explains the meaning of the pet name that all of the warriors used with their mates. I only wish it had happened earlier in the series.

Sax successfully ties up the major series plot arcs while nicely balancing romance and action scenes, making Warlord’s Mercy a fitting conclusion to the Barbarian Claims series.

I received an eBook copy from the publisher for purpose of an honest review for The Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
