This is my favorite of the "Night" series by Ms. Logan. Trace is a scarred (physically, emotionally and spiritually) Iraqi war vet who cannot pull his life back together upon his return home. Kyle is the owner of a martial arts studio (we met him in the previous "Night" book), a former soldier discharged unfairly under the DADT regime. The two meet through Trace's twin sister Brodie, and bond over protecting her from a deranged killer. The sex is hot between these two wounded warriors, and the interplay fun and very erotic. Add in cute nurse Ryan, and the series ends on a very steamy note! It helps to read these books in order, but you won't miss too much if you pick any of the three up out of sequence. Give Ms. Logan a read - you won't regret it! Can't wait for her next effort.
To say that Patricia Logan knows how to "make an entrance" is the understatement of the year - the first few pages were the most harrowing that I have ever read! and then the tempo changed to an amazing thriller/erotic romance. What is this magical ingredient that this author has, to make her books so readable? Again, the book blurb covers the story well and I have to say that the "psycho stalker" element of the book was handled really well and boy oh boy, was he a sick, twisted, demented fiend! (I wanted to say "demented f*ck" but I don't think I'm allowed). My one gripe would be the "third" scenario. For me, it just didn't sit quite right within the context of the storyline, it happened so quickly and so unexpectedly, that I didn't think it added any value to the story - my opinion anyway. Having said all that, Trace and Kyle's interactions (I'm being very coy here) were melting hot and I had to keep fanning my Ipad to cool it down! Even taking into account my little gripe about the ménage (do we need it or not) plot, definitely worth five stars, as it was so enjoyable to read, a little different from the authors other books, which always shows an author's talent in keeping us readers on our toes - never sure what we are going to get! Patricia Logan - you've done it again!
