Angelo Bellacorte, an Italian computer scientist, leads a quiet life in his small town near Rome, where he runs his technology-related business. However, in 1999, an ordinary evening turns into a significant event when Angelo enters a graphic chat room on the Internet and meets a woman named Andrea, an Austrian psychotherapist. What starts as a simple casual conversation soon evolves into a deep and complex relationship, thanks to their unique connection and ability to confide in each other. Angelo suffers from anxiety, panic attacks, claustrophobia and agoraphobia, conditions that make him vulnerable and in search of emotional support. Andrea seems to offer him the comfort he needs, providing material help and becoming an important figure in his life. However, as time passes, a more disturbing truth emerges: Andrea, while offering Angelo financial and physical support, does not provide him with the real psychological support he needs. Her behaviour reveals a hidden selfishness, and her interest in Angelo focuses more on her desire to have him as a companion, rather than as a friend and confidante.
Angelo finds himself struggling with a growing sense of guilt and emotional dependency towards Andrea, fighting against the need to keep her in his life and at the same time trying to protect the stability of his real life and relationships. His daily conversations with Andrea become a battleground between his desire to be helped and the realisation that Andrea thinks mainly of his own well-being, without offering deep and authentic help for his psychological difficulties. Over time, Angelo learns to recognise the importance of his personal commitments and his daily life, developing the ability to distinguish between genuine support and superficial comfort. This is a true story about an intriguing, engaging and unimaginable experience.
