This work was a real eye opener on the issues of available water resources and water management. The text can be scientific in nature, yet de Villiers always breaks it down so a non scientific reader will understand. His test cases are fascinating and cover the world, from the Aral Sea to the American SW. I loved the mix of history and science, neither one outweighing the other. One comes away with a profound respect for the gifts of the earth and begins to realize that everyone must take part in preserving our natural resources- our lifelines. Was this review helpful?
