It is very unique. Again a new sound from kd....to me the first impression I got was "different" ...sounds like music from Joni Mitchell(not all, but small parts)...slangish music as well, almost like when on "drugs"(from what I have seen)...There is also a similar sound to some of her very first full CD - "kd lang and the reclines - a truly western experience" - this you would have to listen to, and see what I am saying.....but then she throws in a very unique use of her vocals....again, unique. We shall see how it ALL sounds when we get the CD. I think allot of my comment is based on what I was expecting....not even close!..lol. So I am sure over time, I will enjoy it as much as the other cd's.....again, how did we adjust to Ingenue when she released that after being know as a country singer.....She is talented, a great voice, and likes to creat music that expresses things in her life.....she is amazing..especilly live!!!!!!! To me it sounds like expressions being told with a combination of her past early, and recent music, combined with some of her favrouate musicians, and other music. I do miss hearing her "powerful", expression while she sings(crying at the end - three cigarettes in and ashtray at the end - dont smoke in bed, etc)...here you really see the full release of many things.....with a spectacular voice. I hope it takes her even higher in the music field...very high! She deserves it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
