Overview

One snowy night while driving into town, Brenna Ewen's parents died. Their will states that in such a case Brenna and her brother, Connor, are to live with their uncle and his family-and that's what is going to happen. A new life and a new father await them, Ben Ewwn, dad's brother and the preacher. Brenna thinks that she may eventually be able to adjust to this new and unwanted way of life, but until then she has to deal with it and her crushing grief and rebellious brother who seems bent on making everyone miserable. "God,why did You let this Happen?" Have you ever wondered why God allows things that don't make sense or don't seem fair? Cahterine Farnes has. Acknowledging God's sovereignty, embracing it, and then working toward the scriptural end to" count it all joy" is the process she turns to for peace in challenging situations. "It's not always easy to keep my mind on God when things are unsettled all around me," she says, "but God promises to keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him." For ages 12 and up.
