Library Journal
Similar in certain ways to Paolo Coelho's later Alchemist, this book urges readers through a mixture of counsel and lightly fictionalized narrative to cherish awareness and spiritual strength rather than traditionally masculine values.

    I Also Recommend:

    This is enlightenment!

Dan Millman's "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" is a wonderful adventure. It's a fun story, as the main character, Dan, meets an enlightened teacher, Socrates, who shares insight on living life with ease, and free from the limiting thoughts of the mind. It's an engaging story line as Dan's world shifts from the ordinary to the extraordinary. I love how Dan Millman has created a novel that teaches with enlightening wisdom.
As Dan Millman's character, Socrates, shares stories and jewels of wisdom that helped Dan find new meaning in his life, I have found that Ariel and Shya Kanes' books have done the same for me. Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment, How To Create a Magical Relationship, and Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: A Book About Instantaneous Transformation are three books that teach a practical approach on how to live life in the moment. It is such a revolutionary approach, instantaneous transformation - enlightenment can be experienced by all - EASILY and with consistency.
If you find that you crave and search for well-being as Dan Millman's main character, the Kanes' books hold the keys that end the search.

    Amazing

I've only just started this book, a third of the way in, but I have never read a book that has made me feel so much better. The night before I started reading this I was ready to kill myself. I dragged myself to work the next day and a friend made me start reading this. I feel better than I have in a long time and I haven't even finished yet. Everything they say about this book is completely true.

    Finding yourself within a book!

When one searches for who they are, they don't realize that they just might pick up a book, and right before their eyes, learn some valuable lessons about themselves. The Way of the Peaceful Warrior makes one open their eyes and truly identify within themselves who they are. This book makes you realize that there is more to life than materialistic items and more to life than what we see before our eyes. The main character takes us through a journey in his life on becoming a true warrior. Little does he know, and little do we know, that this journey is within him and within ourselves the whole time. He just needed to search his heart and he would have found how to be a peacful warrior. There are a lot of thought provoking lessons that are taught to us throughout the book. Keep your highlighter ready for the times that these lessons really move you and give you "food for thought".

    Finally Alive

This book really did great positve changes in my life. I used to think negative about myself, people, and life itself. Always afraid of doing new things and going forward with my life. This book is like the holy bible, going into great details. I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels depressed, lost, or just sick of living. God blessed Dan Millman, his book saved me from suicide.

    It Changed Mine

Way of the Peaceful Warrior is a fantastic story of a young man and his personal and spiritual journey. The characters Dan and Socrates are especially enjoyable. I first read this book in 1991 and have owned and shared many copies since then. It is my favorite gift book because it has something for every reader. Thank you Dan Millman for sharing your story.
