Meet the Author

Blanche Marriott began writing romance novels in 1991 while balancing her career as a wood products manufacturing manager. She often joined the troops in the factory, working on sanders, drills, and saws. It gave her time to "talk" to the characters in her head and figure out what they would do next. In 2001 she switched careers and now works for a CPA firm as an accounting assistant, specializing in payroll. She has completed 14 novels while staying active in 2 writing groups, serving on the Boards of Directors several times, and a number of conference committees. But the best part was the life-long friendships she's formed with so many writers, published and unpublished. Her first published novel, KALEIDOSCOPE, won 2nd place in the 2003 WisRWA Write Touch Readers' Award for published authors. Her second book, WAY OUT WEST, won the prestigious New Jersey Romance Writers' 2003 Golden Leaf Award for Short Contemporary. WAY OUT WEST was also a finalist in the 2004 Virginia Romance Writers' HOLT Medallion Awards. Her current novels are APRIL'S FOOL and HIS BROTHER'S BABY. She also has a non-fiction humor book, BORN TO BITCH, chronicling life's little annoyances.

    Loved it.

Now that is a romance. This book proves that you don't need sex scenes to make a romance. Enough heat without the other stuff. The book was well written and you can't help falling in love with Rand and Callie. I love the idea of an old west town in the modern day. I've always dreamed of finding a place like that for a vacation. Keep up the good work.

    Sweet and clean

Callie and Rand's story is a sweet romance. Modern life mixes with a Wild West get away resort. Throw in a bit of crime for excitement and this 336 page clean story is hard to put down.

    Yeehaw! : )

City girl Callie Sumner is running -- far away from boyfriends who consider her only trophy and doormat material. When she hears about the fantasy vacation spot, Way Out West, Callie jumps at the chance to escape from her problems and applies for work as a saloon girl. Little does she know she's jumping from the fry pan into the fire. ------ For a week at a time, Rand escapes from the corporate rat race and becomes 'himself' at Way Out West. He plays the role of a gambler, enjoying the brief respite of anonymity and wide open spaces. When he meets Callie, Rand's comfort zone explodes into nothingness, and he finds himself falling head over heels for the sassy saloon girl. ------ Can Callie and Rand trust their instincts, share their secrets, and become a couple? Only time, and the capture of whomever is trying to ruin WAY OUT WEST, will tell. ------ Following on the heels of her debut novel, KALEIDOSCOPE, Ms. Marriott again captures readers' hearts with her charming characters and unique storyline. For a fast-paced, creative, mysterious, and delightful romance read, don't miss WAY OUT WEST. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Marriott's exhilarating novels.

What A Shock! I loved this book and it is my first by this auth

What A Shock! I loved this book and it is my first by this author. Not only was it without sex, but it had a lot of romance and the character's were so charming. I too, wish a place like this was real. To get lost in a new life, where you don't have modern technology at your finger tips. But of course, the down side is outhouses (gosh, I remember these at my grandparents home), cold water, no air conditioning, etc. The author made me feel like I was there in the middle of it all. She has such a way of writing which was sweet and endearing. I can't believe this book was free, so do yourself a HUGE favor, and fall in love with WAY OUT WEST. (LJB)

    Sweet quick read

Short and sweet. Not too believable. However, it is a clean romance and a fun afternoon read.
