A Striking Portrait Of Humanity At Its Most Raw...

Ever since she learned of her late husband's scandalous affair with wealthy defense attorney Harriet Wilson, Mavis Rollins has sworn revenge against the woman who effectively ruined her life. So, once her granddaughter, Sandy, eventually comes of age, Mavis convinces her that she's destined to marry the handsome, charming Makai - who just happens to be Harriet's beloved grandson. Unfortunately for Sandy, though, her best friend Kara beats her to the punch, ultimately marrying Makai and enjoying the life of privilege that her grandmother has always insisted belonged to her. So, when Kara's lifeless body is found in a parking garage, high drama quickly begins to unfold and long-hidden secrets are revealed - which may ultimately prove devastating to Mavis and Sandy's plans...

With an intriguing mix of romance, mystery, and suspense, We Belong Together is a subtly gripping read. In it, author Barbara Grovner takes the reader on an eye-opening journey into the twisted lives of a quite interesting menagerie of eclectic characters. In a world where devious schemes and sinister motives rule the day, one can expect a considerable amount of salacious, unbridled scandal - and, in that respect, We Belong Together certainly doesn't disappoint. Given how rapacious they often prove to be, it almost gets to the point where you find it difficult to root for Grovner's characters to be successful in their endeavors, but she nonetheless succeeds in drawing you into them and their antics so deeply that you can't help caring about their ultimate fates - no matter how twisted they may be.

A striking portrait of humanity at its most raw, We Belong Together is nothing if not entertaining.
