    Great sequel!

This is a follow up to The Soulkeepers. It literally picks up from where The Soulkeepers left off. Malini is stressed out trying to find her place in the whole Soulkeepers circle. What is she? Why is she needed? Trying to come up with an explanation as to why she is important to this group she goes on a journey to discover exactly what her role is. Mara, another soulkeeper, joins the group to fight against evil. Malini doesn't take too well with her seeing that she is like Jacob. She grows more frustrated not knowing why she must continue on the joyrney. Malini discovers alot about herself and in that she learns to be confident like a leader. Mara, another soulkeeper, joins the group to fight against evil. Malini doesn't take too well with her seeing that she is like Jacob. Regardless of the tension the group joins together to fight the evil that lies on there ground. Will they win? What is Malini's destiny? Great book might I say. Worth reading! Can't wait for Return to Eden.

A wonderful follow up to "The Soulkeepers".

With most sequels, they usually fail to live up to their predecessors. "Weaving Destiny", however, outshines "The Soulkeepers" and that isn't a bad thing. While "The Soulkeepers" focused on Jacob: his struggle to adapt to life in Paris, Illinois, his fight to find his mother, and his new found power, "Weaving Destiny" focuses on Malini. During that final battle in "The Soulkeepers", you can sense there's something special about Malini. Spoiler: The fact that the Watcher's were unable to see her until she brought attention to herself was enough to guess she wasn't a normal human being.

But it isn't just her new power that she has to struggle with. She believed that Jacob was her destiny, but what if this isn't something she wants? With Dane, a former bully, and Mara, a new Soulkeeper in town, there's more to the story than just Malini's struggle to accept her new life. Malini is a strong character. She's confident and able to look past the negative when we first meet her in "The Soulkeepers", but everyone has a breaking point and Malini seems to reach hers in "Weaving Destiny". Not only is she finding herself jealous of Mara, but she also finds herself questioning if this life - a life as one of them (avoiding spoilers as best I can) - is what she really wants. But it's hard for life to return to normal after everything she's seen in Nod.

The ending to the story finds Malini making her choice. It may have been expected, but Malini needed to be able to reach that conclusion on her own, so I felt it was a rather perfect ending.

If you haven't yet read "The Soulkeepers", get to it. Ching has crafted a wonderful tale of good vs. evil. I can't wait for the next installment to see where the story goes from here!

    My actual rating: 4.5 stars

Very much in love with this series in general, but seeing the stories of more characters unfold is nice. Many times authors lose track of characters we have fallen in love with, but Ching does none of the such with the SoulKeepers.

Something bigger is on the horizon

Malini Gupta is having a hard time figuring out where she fits into the Soulkeepers. Even though she believes Jacob is her destiny, the frustration of not knowing what she is threatens to tear their relationship apart. Matters are aggravated further when a horseman named Mara shows up. She’s clearly interested in Jacob but Jacob isn’t giving any clear cut answers.

To sort out her destiny and find her place, Malini must face her worst fears and even death, learning in the process that Fate is a tapestry of choices and she has the power to forge her own.

In the first book, we got to meet Jacob, Malini and a few of the other major characters in this series. Now we get to meet a few more as the pieces are set into play for something epic! This book reminded me a lot of Piers Anthony’s Incarnations of Immortality series. Time, Fate and Death all have their own nifty little spots on an alternate plane just like those books do.

G.P. Ching once again tackles those issues of sex, drugs and religion, but let’s add a little bit of facing death and jealousy to the mix. I feel in this book, Malini really finds herself and she goes from being doubtful to being a serious force to be reckoned with. She really is super powerful and considering she can summon zombies, readers are left with a feeling that something even bigger than what happens in this book is just beyond the horizon.

Even better than the 1st one!

This book is reminiscent of Cassandra Clare's 'Mortal Instruments Series' - any fan of that series should definitely check this series out!
