If you have children in school, (from elementary through college) or an office, or you read a lot, or if you are breathing, you should have this dictionary. Unfortunately it contains all of the silly words that modern dictionaries have such as dog and tree, and all of those words that everyone already knows, but I have never looked up a word that I couldn't find. If you own this dictionary others might be fun and good to own, but none will be necessary.

The definitions are clear and concise. It is great having the Thesaurus at the bottom of each page.

My Mom bought me a copy of this dictionary for the fourth grade because a college dictionary with a thesaurus was required according to my School Supplies List for that year. That was in '02/'03, now I'm an 18 year old soon-to-be college student, purchasing another copy because mine was left in my home state. =]

Extremely helpful. The definitions, and the Thesaurus, helps me clearly understand the content of what I'm reading.
