This book is a great read regarding wedding etiquette, to avoid headaches when you are a bride, member of the wedding party, or even attending a wedding. There are tips on everything from the invitations to seating arrangements and more. There is helpful information included on so many different topics regarding a wedding, that you are bound to find some tidbits that you didn't know you needed to know.

Wedding Etiquette 101 helps you learn the proper etiquette for planning your wedding. It throws in some modern elements as well as your more traditional ones, which is not always the case with some wedding books and was refreshing to see. It explains the ins and outs of who should pay for what; how to properly use invitations, including how to word and address them, and giving recommendations of things to add to help people find the venue or information about the wedding; the proper way to go about asking for gifts, and how to fill out thank you notes for gifts; rehearsal and reception dinner etiquette; what the proper attire is for all sorts of wedding types; how to deal with religious differences between the bride and groom; and even the exit strategy for making your get-away at the end of the night. Wedding Etiquette 101 is very thorough and concise. It compacts a lot of information into a small book, giving you all the necessities without making you wade through a lot of unnecessary information. If you're looking for a quick, down and dirty guide to let you know the do's and don't's of wedding etiquette, this book is your guide.

I got this book out of frustration with my upcoming neice's wedding plans. She has some great ideas but as she is very young there are a lot of the social niceties of which she isn't aware. I have to say that this book has saved both her and I a lot of frustration with the process and each other. In a well put together format this has been able to answer a lot of her questions and frees up more of her time to the 'fun' part of the planing (her word not mine). This also presents everything in one handy resource which she can take to her partners for the big day - like the printer, the florist, and all the rest. The book is a highly recommended time saver!

I really appreciated the no-nonsense approach this book towards planning a wedding. It addresses everything under the sun and always acknowledges what used to be "the thing" versus what is now more acceptable. Best of all, it always encourages you to stay within your own budget and do what is comfortable to you! So important today with all the over the top weddings going on. And as the title says, this is an etiquette book and not to be used as a checklist. Instead, it's a great resource to get you thinking about what you do and don't want going on at your own wedding.

Since getting engaged I have been looking for a book that could help me plan the wedding. I was especially hoping to find something that would help me know what was proper to dealing with parents who are divorced. My parents have both divorced and remarried. My fiancé parents are just recently divorced. We love them both and didn’t want to have any sticky issues. This book was wonderful in helping to know what was appropriate for these situations and many others as well. I have been able to use the information over and over again. Thanks for a well written, helpful book.

This is a great guide book that I've ever read concerning wedding planning & etiquette. It covers things like traditional wedding ceremonies and more modern and up-to-date styles and themes. Most of the other books that I looked into when helping to plan my oldest sister's wedding only included the more traditional stuff so it was nice to find a modern approach to weddings in this book. The amount of information that you get from this book is impressive. It helps me with proper invitations, the right kinds of gifts, the right clothing (for the bride, groom and guests), proper etiquette before, during, and after the ceremony, receptions and on and on. It even gives some good advice regarding budgeting for your wedding and getting the most out of everything.

One of our ushers has a scruffy beard and always seems in need of a haircut. He's a wonderful person, but how do we ensure he's properly clipped and styled for our big day? Just as you wouldn't dismiss a bridesmaid who has gained 10 pounds, you can't force your usher to adopt different personal grooming habits for your wedding. Yes, it can be worrisome to think that one attendant might stand out among the others. But give the guy some credit. The burden of paying for the wedding has shifted in recent years from the shoulders of the father of the bride, to include the groom's family. Also, with many couples marrying later and having money of their own, they are sharing in the expenses. If someone hasn't responded to your invitation, 1 week past the "Reply by" date, call him or her and confirm over the phone. These tips are helpful but to receive complete and comprehensive information, ONLY this book "Wedding Etiquette 101" will give you the needed knowledge to do the right thing at your wedding ---great book!
