Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
This is an ideal book for professional photographers who wish to refine their skills in a highly lucrative field, serious amateurs who would like to break into commercial photography, and those everyday shooters who would simply like to make better photographs at family weddings. Most of the book deals with the business of wedding photography--setting up a studio, preparing a repertoire of essential photographs, purchasing equipment, establishing prices and packages, contracting for services, and relating well with customers. Furthermore, unlike many how-to manuals on commercial photography, this book emphasizes the "art" and "style" of wedding photography that is promised in the subtitle. The book is loaded with good, practical tips on posing the bride, taking candid photographs, and capturing the atmosphere. This fresh approach, illustrated with exceptional photographs from a number of leading studios, is the book's greatest strength. A good, solid choice for both public and academic libraries.--Raymond Bial, Parkland Coll. Lib., Champaign, IL

Good ideas for wedding and special occasion photography

Bought it for ideas for myself when attending an upcoming wedding -- I like to take lots of casuals, but haven't done so for a number of years. I had anticipated there would be much on digital photography, but the author still used film for his work. Loaned my copy to the bride and groom so they can garner ideas to suggest to their professional photographer. After their wedding, I will probably forward this to a professional photographer within my family -- he may find an idea or two of use.
