Overview

Stockbroker Jack Skinner has worked hard to make a good life for his wife and newborn daughter. But the diaper changes, long commutes and pressures of the job have worn him down. The chance to sneak away to Las Vegas to party with an old friend seems like the perfect way to recharge.

A world away from manicured lawns and two-car garages, Rob Hollister is in deep. Real deep. In love with a prostitute and hooked on drugs, he knows walking away is not in his cards. These guys kill for amusement as much as business, and they don’t believe in new beginnings.

In this fast-paced thriller, a suburban family man in pursuit of a weekend getaway finds himself trying to get away with his life. In the grip of evil men with dangerous connections, it’s a party that could come at the price of his family.

This book was really good and a fast read. The plot was great and the characters were good. I read a lot so for me the story line was bit too simple and not complicated enough. Overall though its definitly worth reading.

Read it in an evening, good character development. Great book from a first time author

Good story but i didnt see the 'hundreds' of typos and grammatical errors the grammar nazis complained about. May have been some, but wasnt bad enough to take away from the storyline, unless you are anal about that stuff.

I actually liked this story very much. It keeps you interested from beginning to end, the characters have depth and the storyline has a good beat. The narrative is good enough that you can actually visualize the settings.

I cruised through this book at an alarming rate. It was exciting but it wasn’t anything special. I would put it under the heading of a fable, moral of the story don’t lie or really bad stuff could happen. Unfortunately the bad stuff that happened in this book was predictable. It was still a good book, just not great. I suppose it would depend on how much you read and what kind of experience you want from it. I came away from this book feeling no different than when I started it and I always hope for a little more.

As stated by other readers, grammar and punctation needed a bit of work. Story line is good. This is an easy read and a fast moving book. Not bad for a first time writer.

While I believe in following your dreams, if your dream of writing involves readers (me!), proof the work before publishing. This book is riddled with typos. Distracting from the story.

This story gets going, and continues to roll. An easy read, indeed. Probably because the pages just fly by. The author does an excellent job placing the reader in the middle of the action. At times, it felt like I was right there with the characters. Hope to see more from this writer!

This was a fairly easy read that I finished in a couple of days. There were some typos, but not too many. The story itself was a straightforward thriller. I thought the part **SPOILER ALERT** where the main bad guy appeared in the hero's home was unrealistic, but the story itself was engaging overall, and the characters were mostly believeable. I wasn't blown away, but it was an enjoyable read.
