Overview

David Kirchhoff isn't just the President and CEO of Weight Watchers—he's also one of its biggest success stories. After a life-changing conversation with a doctor about how his escalating weight was threatening his health, Kirchhoff embarked on a life-altering journey to lose weight and keep it off. In Weight Loss Boss, his personal and often hilarious narrative, he divulges his slide into full-fledged obesity and chronicles his struggle to manage his relationship with food and to find an exercise regimen that sticks. Drawing on the latest scientific research and inspiring personal stories of Weight Watchers members and others, Kirchhoff makes the case that the only recipe for long-term success is to radically shift the way we think about weight maintenance. Reductive willpower-based and food-focused diets will never bring lasting change. He explains how to incorporate positive habits that become second nature, to rigorously manage one's food environment—and embrace practical behavior-change tools. In the light of a new, healthier lifestyle, change isn't a burden—it's a release.

So, I just got this book yesterday and I am already half way through it. It is one of those books that makes sense and is an easy read, but is informative enough to capture your attention. No, it is not another one of those weight loss books that gives you "blah, blah, blah, do this, don't do that and here are some recipes thrown in." This is more of a weight loss story that everyone can identify with. It is not all about Weight Watchers. Anyone can read it and get something out of it. I highly recommend it - man or woman, Weight Watchers or not.

A pratical, funny and self-depricating view of weight loss! This book discusses the science behind weight loss as well as the root of the issue for a lot of us, the overabundance of food in today's society. In adddition, he talks about how our past habits can and do influence our present ones. For most of us, we realize at some point this is a lifelong process and one that has to be actively managed.

I could not wait for the book to be released. From the time I received it to the time I was reading the last word, was all in one weekend. It was such an inspirational, humerous, fast read. I love it that the book is not exclusively for a Weight Watcher's members, and on the other hand as a member I felt like I was in the club. It is also interesting to read a "diet" book that was written by a man. I didn't want the book to end!

You now have a look into the CEO of WW. He shows that even he can struggle when not following a perfectly place plan. This book is informative and he is downright funny. Well worth the money. A great book...

It gave me the kick start that I needed to get back on track to make better food choices. The author made me laugh along with him, at his ups and downs of healthy weight loss . He presented a very down to earth approach to life long changes for making healthy changes to his/our eating habits!

I bought this book not really thinking I would enjoy a book about losing weight, but I was surprised that it was relevant AND interesting and told in a manner that helps rather than preaches good habits.

I have been on maintenance for a couple of years. Dave's book encouraged me and let me know I'm not alone in my continued pursuit of weight maintenance and let me know the ups and downs are normal . He was funny and encouraging and reminded me why I started the pursuit in the first place. If you've been on a weight loss plan, the book will encourage you to stay the path.

I enjoyed this book. Lots of practical advice. Some very interesting statistics but not so many you get bored. Wish the bio's on the losers had a bit more story.
