“Best Travel Series of The Year 2006”—Booklist

That’s a question Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman have enjoyed asking for years—and their offbeat sense of curiosity led them to create the bestselling phenomenon, Weird N.J. Now the weirdness has spread throughout the U.S.! Each fun and intriguing volume offers more than 250 illustrated pages of places where tourists usually don’t venture: it’s chock-full of oddball curiosities, ghostly places, local legends, crazy characters, cursed roads, and peculiar roadside attractions. What’s NOT shockingly odd here: that every previously published Weird book has become a bestseller in its region.

I never got a chance to read anything because when this book arrived, it was in bad shape and unacceptable and there was no packing materials inside the box to keep it from moving. Thankfully, I was able to return it to a Barnes and Noble store and i got my money back.

I have the first edition of this book as well as the New York State version. They are filled with unusual bits of info you wont find in any other tour guide books. Even though it does give locations, it's not really a guide book as much as a book filled with fun, scary, bizarre, curious areas of every region of this country.

Most folks are familiar with the Weird series of books by now I'm sure. So I 'm not going to go into what it's all about. Simply put this is just another amazing collection of unbelievable but (mostly true) tales of weird people, places and thing found all around the country. Immensely entertaining, provocative, awe inspiring and sometimes just downright creepy. Also beautifully designed with spectacular color photos throughout. A must for anyone interested in the unusual.
