When lightning strikes, you never know where you'll end up...or when.
They say it's rare for a person to survive a lightning strike, but that's exactly what happened to 12-year-old Hunter when he stood in the garage one evening and pushed a time card into an antique time clock. Not only was he hit, he was sent back in time to 1963. He finds himself trapped in a world where phones have curly cords, laptops don't exist, and parents don't realize that cigarettes can kill them.
Hunter uses a Game Boy to convince his new friends, Bobby, Eddie, Davey, and Roy, that he's actually from 2010 before they will help him look for a way home.

Cathy Seckman has got to be one of my favorite authors! I've always loved reading her articles and short stories, and had secretly wondered why she'd never written a book. Well. Now she has, and you won't regret buying this little book not only for yourself, but for your kids and grandkids (yes, I'm that old). Weirdo World is entertaining while tugging on your heartstrings if you're old enough to have lived in the sixties. If you didn't grow up in the sixties, you'll get a true feel for what it was like back then! I wonder, what would I have thought if someone told me about "dee vee dee's" ... Who knows what will happen when lightening strikes! Colene H
Weirdo World made me wish I could travel back in time with Hunter. It was a quick enjoyable read that was fun from beginning to the end. The ending was just right. D. Torday
