Overview

Charlotte is a French artist living in Brighton. She takes her goddaughter Ella (age 19) and her brother George (17) on a seven-week summer holiday across France, showing them the beauty of her country and talking about her French roots. From the Étretat cliffs to the museums of Paris, from the gorgeous castles of the Loire Valley to the exquisite landscapes of Provence, this illustrated travel diary is an exploration of modern-day France through the eyes of two British teenagers and their enthusiastic guide.

About the Author

Poppy has her roots in France and in England and grew up bilingually with a great love for both her cultures.
She left Toulouse to study literature and theatre in Brighton and settled in Hamburg, Germany, where she lives with her husband and two children.
Today, she runs a language school for children from the age of 2-18 and often travels through France to visit her family in all corners of the country.


Originally from the Bordeaux region, Elice is an illustrator, graphic designer and printmaker. Describing herself as an image-maker, she interprets her visual universe using different media (posters, murals, etc.) in a variety of fields, including publishing, media, and communication. Elice has published a number of albums with Auzou, Les P'tits Bérêts and Lilly Jeunesse.
