    Not that great

While reading "Welcome To Hell" I realized that there isn't much about any of these stories that has a uniquely western "feel." Most of them could be set in any location (and sometimes in any time period) without any disruption to the narrative. I just didn't find anything that really captured the essence of the old west. The stories are decent, but not overly exciting, thrilling, or even original. Some of them are quite predictable. Also, it doesn't appear that a lot of attention was paid to the editing process because there are misspellings I was amazed made it into print. I would recommend passing on this collection and going for something by Joe R. Lansdale.
