Author is a certified experimental aircraft welder, welding instructor, race car and parts fabricator, and car restorer. You won't be a welder after reading this book, but you will know the right questions to ask and have an idea as to how to get started. You'll probably save more than the cost of this book many times over.

I found this book to be a very good Introduction to Welding. Having been laid-off from work, I looked for a book that would give me some good insight into Welding. I have always wanted to learn welding and this provided sufficient impetus to encourage me to enroll in the Welding curriculum at our community college. It is not a "how to" book, but a very good what you "can do" book.
