    a new favorite

After reading Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch #1) I couldn't wait to read the second book in this series..This book did not disappoint at all. It is just as good, action packed and like the other book I was hooked. It got me staying up later than expected because this is one I could not put down and as soon as I was done I really couldn't wait to read the next book in this series. If you are into vampires, werewolves and witches this is a great series for you.

    Brilliant book!

This is a BRILLIANT book! No kidding, is entertaining, funny, interesting and full of things I didn't know about, like alchemist stuff.
Yes, alchemist, that's right. So, if in "Vampyre Kisses" we had gods, a volucris (I want one too!), hunters, slayers, a guardian, vampires, werewolves and the last witch in this one we need to add a psychic vampire (there's only one each generation), an alchemist and a inquisitor. In conclusion: so much fun!
But yeah, let me explain a little bit of the book:

After the last battle in "Vampyre Kisses" Faith and Trent decide to move in together so they rent a new place outside New York. What they want? Peace and quiet. What they get? Crazy people everywhere.
There's a new vampire coming to town, a really special one that doesn't feed on blood but on energy. And he wants Faith's energy. But he wants her heart too (in a romantic way, don't get me wrong). His name is Vincent and for some reason he needs to be with Faith.
But he arrives in the middle of a crisis: werewolves are been kidnapped and nobody knows why. Zou Tai, the werewolf prince, goes to Morgan to ask for help and of course Faith gets involved too.

In this book we won't find a love triangle, we are going to find a square. Yep. Faith is just so special that Trent (her vampire boyfriend) is going to compite against Zou Tai (werewolf prince and a very hot guy) and Vincent (psychic vampire with an energy that makes Faith melt). Even Daeka, the werewolf god, likes her a little bit but in a playful way.
But you see, there's this alchemist that wants to ruin everything. I can't tell you what he wants because is one of the most interesting things in the book but I can encourage you to read both of them :D
The next book is coming out next year and believe me, I can't wait to see what happens next!

    4.5 Stars!

Faith and Trent are back and there are more obstacles than ever testing their love in the second installment of The Last Witch series. I fell in love with the characters in Vampyre Kisses and I enjoyed how Kolodziej put a different spin on vampires. I was really looking forward to reading Werewolf Descent and it didn't disappoint. I was drawn in from the very first page and read the book in almost one sitting. Kolodziej has some tricks up her sleeve in this one, and she kept me guessing all the way through. Continuing with her trend of putting new spins on the world of vampires and werewolves, Kolodziej introduces us to a psychic vampire and an alchemist. The new characters keep the story fresh and engaging while of course causing more conflict for Faith and her vampire boyfriend, Trent.

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of werewolves, but I was drawn into the story of the werewolf murders and especially the history behind it, which becomes key to the story line. I found myself cheering on the creatures that I usually dislike in other books. But while the werewolf prince becomes a key player in this story, he also creates some trouble for Faith. In fact, Faith becomes the object of desire of many of the characters in this book, showing how truly one-of-a-kind she is.

One caution I do have to make is that this book gets steamy. Faith and Trent's relationship is in full-swing and we see it all. I would hesitate to recommend it to younger readers who like to read up, but for the intended audience, it's full of romance and passion.

Another great thing about this book is that even though it is the second in the series, it stands on its own. This book is a winner. I think Kolodziej topped herself this time.

    I'm giving it 4.5 stars!

    Better than the first

Werewolf Descent was a great action-packed read. Elizabeth did a wonderful job mixing old myths and legends with her own imagination, creating something entirely her own. The book was fast-paced and never tedious - the story drew you in and kept you reading.

On top creating an excellent story of love, lust and magic, I was surprised by how much Elizabeth's writing has improved since Vampyre Kisses. In the first book the characters weren't all that believable to me, but this time around they were much more real and more likable as well. Faith especially, she's a strong-minded and independent women, but not unrealistically so, she isn't the overdone uber-tough female lead found in so many books nowadays. She's strong, but still a human woman who makes mistakes and has heavy emotions and desires. So the author gets point for having some great characters, she also gets point for taking risks with this book. Not many authors would have been willing to take the story where Elizabeth did, but she went for it and in my opinion it was fantastic.

While I loved Werewolf Descent there was one big issue I had with the book. At times the dialogue was a bit forced and annoyingly cliché, there were parts where I literally groaned and rolled my eyes at what the characters were saying and doing. Fortunately, these moments were limited and didn't ruin the book for me. But I would have loved it if the dialogue had been as unique as the story itself.

Overall I loved Werewolf Descent and I can't wait to read the next book in the Last Witch series, especially since this book ended on a HUGE cliff hanger.

    A MUST READ!!

Elizabeth has done it AGAIN! What an amazing read! Where she gets all these ideas, I have no clue but keep them coming!!! This story was alluring with all the mysterious twists and turn that I could not figure out. The romantic entanglement that with each turn of a page kept me guessing who will be sucked in the triangle next, entertained me completely. I could not put the book down! And the romantic sections!! Loved those! The story has some new characters and I sensed it taking a new direction which I thought was a great way to continue to the series. Although, I understand the reason behind the ending, I can not go without saying that I wished it ended differently. I loved that character and loved the connection between those two. But only Elizabeth knows where she's taking this story next, and with what I have read so far, I know she will make it desirably readable. Lets see how this new character develops and how this all turns out. I can not wait until the next book!!! Absolutely in love with this series. With so much going on, there's no way you can put the book down. It's amazing how the author can write a story with so much adventure, problems, characters and romance and still keep it easy to read, follow and comprehend. Honestly, folks this is a must read and I highly recommend this series to all Adults!!

When a new vampire (Vincent) comes into town specifically for Faith, Faith learns that there's a new witch ability she has yet to learn but must awaken quickly if she wants to protect herself from this new vampire. Trent isn't happy about this new vampire and acquires the help of Morgan (the master vampire) to located and uncover the motives behind this new enemy. If it isn't enough that there's a new vampire in town with unknown motives. Werewolves are disappearing and dying of an unknown cause. When an investigator arrives in New York to investigate the Royal Werewolf Family, Zou Tai isn't happy about it but with all the history and the attraction between the two, things get a little hot. There's another new character (Lilith) who is being introduced in this story and I believe will be mentioned more in the next book.
