Overview

Win it all, or lose it all…

Giselle Landry is in Las Vegas to haul her wayward brother back home. But casino owner Luke Dalton is also looking for her brother, who has run off with his little sister. The two should join forces, but Luke is unaware that Giselle’s brother is also fleeing his duties as the future alpha of the Landry werewolf pack—which includes his Were bride.

The Landrys don’t believe in Weres mating with humans, and Giselle is no exception. Though Luke is wealthy, gorgeous, and protective, Giselle can’t let herself get close to him, even to solve their shared dilemma. But the tension wears away her resistance, and after a wild night with Luke, she is shocked to find she’s fallen for him.

But Luke still doesn’t know Giselle’s true identity. And once their siblings are found, Giselle must return to San Francisco. Can they overcome the odds—or will what happened in Vegas stay in Vegas?

The sixth book in the Wild About You series by Vicki Lewis Thomp

The sixth book in the Wild About You series by Vicki Lewis Thompson is a tale about falling in love with the wrong person, and making it work. Werewolf in Las Vegas has all of the wit and charm readers have come to love from this author, along with a bit of humor and a prankster. Humans and weres don't make good mates, but when Giselle and Luke can not longer deny their feelings for each other, maybe it's time to change the rules. Readers are treated to, not one but two couples that have a lot to learn about love. This humorous romp through Vegas will have readers smiling all the way through.

    What I liked:

Werewolf in Las Vegas features another werewolf/human combination that has been so successful for Vicki Lewis Thompson thus far. Luke and Giselle are both looking for their wayward siblings. Luke's sister doesn't want to go back to school, she wants to pursue her dreams of being a Vegas show girl. Giselle's brother is shirking his duties as the future alpha of their pack and must be reigned in. Both of siblings have joined forces against Luke and Giselle and lead them on a merry chase, including riddles and pranks that will have the reader in stitches. There were good parts about their relationship and some not so good parts.

I liked the way Luke and Giselle interacted. She has always believed that humans and weres should not mate. I liked the fact that her ideas of what she thought she believed were challenged. She was able to see things from a different perspective when she started to fall for Luke and that provided an avenue for a lot of character growth in Giselle. I also enjoyed the way Luke was with her. He was adventurous and playful. The author uses a lot of humor throughout the book giving this paranormal relationship a lightness that was enjoyable to read about. There was plenty of sex for the adult reader to enjoy and plenty of everything else to keep readers flipping the pages.

I thought the chemistry was definitely there between Luke and Giselle, but all the running around trying to find Bryce and Cynthia took a little bit away from the relationship that was developing between them. So much attention was paid to the secondary couple, that the main characters had to take the hit. Though I understood the necessity for that, it was still a little disconcerting.

Through out the series so far, Thompson has taken the concept of Werewolf/human mating and given readers the ups and downs, ins and outs and provided a good overall story arc for the series. I agree there are only so many stories of this kind that will work, before readers start to loose interest. Considering that Werewolf in Las Vegas is book six of the Wild About You series, it might be time to consider adding some other source of conflict to keep the series fresh and original.

    Bottom Line:

I liked this book. It was light and had a lot of humor but the overall story arc is starting to lag a little bit. Too much attention was paid to the secondary couple and caused the relationship of the main couple to loose some of it's luster. I still love the series and would recommend it to anyone. This just wasn't my favorite so far.

    NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
    REVIEW:
Luke Landry is trying so hard to keep it together for everyone since the death of his father. It may look like he is doing an okay job. But after playing a high stakes game for the deed to his rivals property, his little sister not wanting to go back to school and then playing a game of cat and mouse with him, Luke really needs a break from running an empire. Little does he know that the help he is looking for is about walk right into his office.

I just love Vicki’s Wild About You books. All the characters are so much fun. You truly can’t help but fall in love with them. I love Luke. He is trying so hard to live up to who his dad was. It was a fun journey to watch Luke grow as a person. Giselle is a feisty little sister and would so love to hang out with her. This was just a fun book to read. But I want to know more about some of the side characters :)

If you have never read a Vicki Lewis Thompson Wild About You book you really need to go grab one. And don’t worry they each can easily stand on their own so don’t feel that you have to read in order (but I would suggest reading them all :) ). I can’t wait to see where the next Wild About You series will take us.

    Im A Werewolf Prologue

((Thanks Minna! I'm taking your advice and making it longer!))

    Prologue-

I jerk awake in my bed, sitting upright, wondering what woke me up. Glancing at my alarm clock, which read 12:47, I lay back down, planning to go back to sleep. I frown as my stomach starts to hurt and I curl up, yawning. I ignore it but a dull pain grows in my stomach. I stifle a mumble and curl up tighter, holding my stomach and chest. The pain spreads along my body and a faint tingling sensation runs over it, making me frown, clenching my fists. I moan in agony as the pain increases, causing me to roll over and get tangled up in my sheets. I roll over again and fall off the bed, laying on the cold hardwood floor. My cheek presses against the floor and the coolness helps the pain a little. I lay there for about twelve minutes, me slowly counting out the minutes and writhing when the agony increases every once and a while. Eventually the pain dissapates and I let out a sigh of relief, smiling grimly. I stand up but something feels off. Wobbiling as I stand I try to frown as everything feels lower. I have to look up at everything and my usually cold room is warm. I shrug, which also feels weird, and starts to walk toward my mirror that is in the corner of the room. I try to gasp as I stare at my reflection but only a strangled whimper and whine comes out. A wolf's reflection stares back at me. A bright white wolf with shock blue eyes and black paws. I'm a wolf. A freakin' wolf. *I'm a werewolf.* I think in shock, my now blue eyes narrowing.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Vivacious Valkyrie - Marta:
*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review

    --Actual rating 3.5 Skulls

Book six in the Wild About You series and I have to admit this reads pretty well as a standalone novel. If you are new to this authors work then it's a good place to start but if you have been following this series then I'm pretty sure that you will be charmed by this talented authors latest offering.

Luke has recently inherited his fathers property and business in Las Vegas but unfortunately he's also inherited the family feud with a neighbouring hotel owner. It looks as if he can sort out that little problem with a poker game but little does he know he has an even larger problem at home!

Giselle is a werewolf and she's travelled to Las Vegas to find her missing and somewhat wayward brother Bryce. What she finds when she gets there is that Bryce has run off with Cynthia a human female and she just happens to have the most gorgeous brother Luke. He is unknowingly causing huge problems for the secretive werewolf community but that's the least of Giselle's problems!
They decide that teaming up to track down the runaways makes sense but spending so much time together is a lot more challenging than either of them expect. Giselle is aware that sleeping with a human would be a bad idea but something about Luke just calls to her. As they are continuously taunted by Bryce and Cynthia, ignoring their mutual attraction becomes something that Giselle and Luke find impossible but one night will change everything. Giselle knows she will have to leave Luke behind but will she also leave her heart?

This series of books about humans mating with werewolves had eluded me until now .I've read only one other book by Ms Lewis Thompson (Casual Hex) so expected something quite similar with a light tone and a romance. This is still essentially a paranormal romance but there is an awful lot of sexual content which some readers might find off putting. I hasten to reassure that it's all consensual and loving, but for me I would have preferred more storyline and plot.

The hero Luke has to be one of the most sensitive and caring male characters I have read about in a long time and the heroine Giselle is quite savvy and very good at persuading others to see sense which I liked about her. It was interesting to see her get her point across without resulting to any brutish or animalistic behaviour which might be expected from a werewolf. I also found the supporting characters to be very engaging and really wanted more from them so perhaps they will get their own book or books?

I did enjoy this book and it's an easy read that allowed me to just pretend I was in Las Vegas for a few hours. Quite a simple plot idea but it's not always essential to have dark angst ridden tales and a fun book often hits the spot.

If you are new to this authors work then give it a go but remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

This is a fun loosely connected series. This is romance with a subtle underlying positive message. In this book it is about letting your loved ones be who they are not what you think they need to be. It is also about letting go of preconceived notions of what should be and allowing yourself to just be. I get a kick out of Ms. Thompson’s world and love visiting each and every time.

Fun....witty...charming story of love and acceptance!

Giselle Landry is in Las Vegas to find her brother and Luke Dalton wants to find him as well since his sister is with him. Together they decide to work together to look for them. What they didn't expect was to be so physically drawn to each other. Giselle had never had sex with a human and didn't plan on it with Luke...she doesn't believe their kind should mix and mate with humans. Luke just know he wants Giselle and will do what it takes to get her in his bed. Vicki Lewis Thompson does a great job with their story. Its turns out to be a fun adventure while they search for their siblings. But do they finally give in to their desires for each other and what of Giselle's beliefs about not mating humans. Plus the fact she would have to tell Luke her secret and could he handle it? The author does a wonderful job of taking the reader through their journey. The characters are fantastic and give this story the right amount of humor and adventure to keep the reader interested from the beginning. I love this series and this book is another great addition to it. Highly recommend!

Not as good as I remembered

I thought this latest installment seem Juvenile in writing in ways I just don’t remember the other books being. It was still a cute story but the style just sounded different to me.
I found that I could have done without so much running around and would have liked the big reveal to come sooner so the focus on the relationship would have been more.
