Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The big wide world around us offers much to see. If you are looking for technical definitions you will not find them in this book. Kubler presents these sensations with a series of pencil and watercolor illustrations featuring a charming variety of children of various ethnicities and both sexes. Sight is the capability of eyes to focus and detect images when visible light falls on the photoreceptors in the retinas. Here, however, toddlers see other like themselves looking at the things that would be in their world—a butterfly flitting by, a mobile hanging over a crib, a bird chirping in a tree, and perhaps the trails left by a snail or two. A young girl with eyeglasses is enjoying the "jewels" in her little box and especially those that sparkle. A young boy sees his reflection in a mirror and at night a young girl gazes out the window at the bright crescent moon. This title is part of an engaging board book series about the senses.
