Since my husband gave me 'What if God were the Sun' for Christmas, and then 'One Last Time' for my birthday 2 years ago, I find myself re-reading them whenever I think of my Mom, my younger sister, and many friends I have lost recently. I know they're watching over me because my Mom and Sister both visited me shortly after they passed and it scared me at first. After reading John's books I know why they did. Thank you so very much.

We've owned this book for at least 2 years and neither my husband or I read it. To make a very long tragic story short, my mom is dying. I'm losing my best friend and my heart is breaking. I picked this book up and in a couple of days my idea about grief has changed. My hearts still breaking but i understand better now. This book is fiction, but I could have written this book myself. I just kept thinking, Oh my god, thats exactly what I'm going though. It's wonderful.

At first I was very interested but confused about what this man's life story had to do with John Edward's talent but I was so caught up in the persons recollections of his special the confusion seemed to fade. All the sudden it took a different twist and I was enlightened as well as comforted, amazed and seemed to stay in a state of awe over his talents to educate a different part of my mind.

I have to say I was so excited to get this book. And truly disappointed with it! I suppose there is nobody to blame but myself, for setting higher expectation then what could actually be met. It was a fiction book, which was very general, and dissatisfying!

This story is wonderful. I couldnt put it down. My friends and family want to read it. This is a story where you laugh one minute and cry in the next. Makes you feel close to the ones who have left you and gives you the comfort you need to let your loved ones go....

While his mother's cancer progresses, the narrator in this book flashes back to his childhood when his mother explained that God was the sun, an epiphany that becomes more tangible as he wrestles with impending death. Readers who don't expect haute literature will be touched by this tearjerker story that offers tenderness and comfort. It's also an excellent book to give to those who are open to afterlife discussions and/or are grieving the loss of a loved one.

This moving book really tugs at the heart strings. With such a universal subject, there's something for everyone, though I particularly recommend this book to anyone who shares Edwards' vision of the afterlife.

What a triumph for John Edward. The lessons he conveys in this novel are for everyone here and for those who have crossed over. How important it is for all of us to appreciate, communicate, and validate our feelings of love and support for those closest to us and to be assured that our family members and friends who are on the Other Side are watching over us and are with us during the critical points (good and bad) in our lives. Remember that we are with each other... forever and a day. Thank you, John Edward!

This is an excellent book for people to understand that their loved ones that have crossed over are always with them. It is sad but in a wonderful way. I read it in two evenings before bedtime and I woke up everyday with a good feeling as a result of this book. For anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one it is truly inspiration.
