WHAT IS IT is unbelievably original

NATURALLY SEVEN is what happens when Bobby McFerrin collides with Earth Wind and FIre-a lot of a capella soul. The group calls it "vocal play." It is hard to believe that there is no instrumentation on the tracks. All of the beats and sounds are produced by the talented group and their gorgeous mellow harmonies are absolutely captivating. I recently saw them open for Michael Buble. I could have happily listened to them for an entire concert. This album captures many of the best pieces they do live. The title is perfect: WHAT IS IT? The weaving of harmonies is extraordinary and often they will combine songs to create unusual, original medlies. Although there is some overlapping of songs from album to album, this is a group that will hook you in and hopefully you will listen to their collection and listen to their growth.
