Overview

"What Is Love? is an inspirational handbook to happy, healthy, and fulfilled relationships. Reading it will uplift your spirit, clarify expectations, and open the door to the relationship of your dreams." –Cherie Carter-Scott, Ph.D., author of the number-one New York Times best-selling book If Love Is a Game, These Are the Rules

Why is it that love receives less instruction than the average driver's education class? We don't learn to drive by crashing until we get it right, but this seems to be how we learn about love.

Author Taro Gold offers simple, practical guidance-based on the universal principles of Buddhism-that can steer us through the twists and turns of love. By leading us first to become happy within, Buddhist teachings offer empowering advice on creating the romantic happiness of our dreams.

What Is Love? contains three sections:
Love and Illusion: The Outer Path (Searching Through the Fantasy)
Love and Reality: The Inner Path (Finding True Love Within)
Love and Life: The Middle Path (Creating Romantic Happiness Now)

Inspirational quotes are sprinkled throughout the text, enriched by full-color, Far East-inspired watercolors. Like an elegant bouquet of flowers, it's the perfect gift for Valentine's Day or any other special occasion.

Here is an extraordinary practical guide to romantic happiness, using the universal wisdom of the East to enhance communication, increase self-love, and achieve emotional fulfillment.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
This little square hardback may appear similar to any number of frothy books on spirituality and relationships, but it rises above the genre to offer some reflective and even profound wisdom about Buddhism and romance. The short chapters help readers distinguish between love and illusion, take responsibility for creating their own happiness, overcome fears of pain and loss, and focus on inward change. This is a beautifully illustrated, accessible and perceptive guide.

Be the kind of person you want to attract in your life

This book is amazing although I guess you could say that it is really common sense. There are a lot of things in it that I already knew, or almost understood, and this book somehow explained it so directly and simply that it is crystal clear to me now -- things like being the person I want to attract, focussing on the positive to create more positivity, taking responsibility for myself, understanding that no one is perfect, and much much more. I have been dating more since I first read this book a couple of months ago and even though I have yet to meet anyone I want to start a serious relationship with, it is obvious how much happier the process of finding true love is for me now that I understand the points in this book.

    really helps

this book is one of the most helpful guides to relationship happiness. it is now one of my favorite books on love. the text is to-the-point and simple, but still deep and meaningful. I have not found many books that can get across a thousand pages of information in under 100 pages, but this one did it. I love it.

    fantastic

This book was given to me by a friend at a very rough time in my life and it has been nothing short of amazing. 'What is Love' has opened up my mind and taught me more about myself in 80 some odd pages than I ever did in 31 years on my own - it's definitely worth the read and something I¿ll read over and over again.

    Fantastic

After reading Taro Gold's book 'Open Your Mind, Open Your Life' and loving it, I've been waiting for him to put out some new stuff. I saw him at a book signing this month and received an advance copy of this new title. It's probably the best relationship book I've ever read. Simple, straightforward, and light. This author's style is great for times when you don't want to read something too heavy and you just wanna get to the point!

    Wonderful

I met author Taro Gold in Chicago on his book tour this month and he was as delightful and interesting as his books are. I have enjoyed all of his books but I think this one may be my favorite of all. It is called What Is Love and it's really a book for everyone. It also contains probably the most diverse and thought-provoking collection of wisdom about love I have come across in my life.

    Fantastic help for happy relationships

When I received this book as a gift from my sister, I thought it was very beautiful but couldn't really imagine how it would help me. To my surprise, this great little book has been a tremendous help to me in all of my relationships, both romantic and otherwise. It has taught me to look at problems from different angles that I never considered before, and helped me feel much greater peace in my heart. I am back to order more for everyone on my holiday gift list this year.
