It’s something that can speak to you no matter what mood you may be in. The Edgar Allan Poet: Journal #2, edited by Apryl Skies, encompasses all of these emotions as it depicts poetry from a wide variety of different poets. These poems teach a new way of looking at the world and they teach a way of understanding oneself. If you are lost and looking for a way to explain how you feel, these poems can help you find the answer that you’re looking for. They help you to look at emotion in an entirely different way. I was drawn in from the beginning with many of these poems. I would read through one and have to stop for a moment to consider it. I really felt that I could relate to many of the things that I was reading, and that the different poems had an important meaning to them. I loved the styling as well as the use of color and added spacing to help you see what the poems were really about. I’m not always good at understanding the true meaning behind a poem, even if I can understand that they’re beautiful. I loved that with this book I really could understand the poems and I felt that I could relate to them in some ways as well. The Edgar Allan Poet: Journal #2 is definitely a great book for a poetry-lover.
