Ronda Rich is the author of What Southern Women Know (That Every Woman Should) and a novel, The Town That Came A-Courtin'. She is an eleventh-generation Southerner who firmly believes that charm disarms. In her weekly syndicated newspaper column, "Dixie Divas," she writes humorously and poignantly about the South and its women. I finished reading What Southern Women Know and was completely charmed by every word.It's a must for every woman feeling a bit taken back by the overly testostrone run world we live in nowadays.This wonderful book tought me to let the testotrone mentality go and be a feminine woman again, while still getting what I want but not demanding it. The advice is so right on about how men and women interact and how this interaction has changed little throughout the years. Men want women who respect themselves,and this theme is constant.My self esteem has improved,my sense of what being a woman means,has improved.

Due to some personal bad, very bad relationships of my past I lost alot of the do and don'ts of living.I quit caring 'bout others in my life and became so negative on things. In other words my heart was no longer where it should've been. Now I've gone back to the smiling all the time and my flirtatious ways. I have noticed a more positive out look on life, too. I truely enjoyed the book to its fullest, and I have recommended it to my bestfriend of 14 years to read. THANK YOU MS.RONDA!!!

This book was a absolute joy to devour! With little untold secrets of everything from bargaining to keeping love, it had me even speaking with a Southern accent in a matter of hours. It gave new perspective on the joys and profits of being feminine in a dog-eat-dog world, and how to use that feminism in to profiting everyone- while getting what you want. It reflects Christian values in a new and fresh and Southern way. I have loved this book, every time I've read it.

Learn all the things our puritan grandmothers didn't pass on to their daughters, if they ever knew them at all. My employment situation improved greatly, since our company is Texas owned, and my manners are now understood by the good ol' boys and girls. Now I really have something to teach my nieces that has bridges the generation gap.

I absolutely love this book! My great aunt gave it to my mother. Unfortunately, she was so in love with it that she would not relinquish it to me. I had to buy my own copy!! A very funny but honest look at what Southern women have known and done to get exactly what we want. A must read for ALL women.

I loved every word of this book! I laughed, I cried and I nodded my head in agreement. Many times. The author writes from the heart and sometimes from the cheek --- as in tongue-in-cheek --- but the advice is so good, so practical. But basically, it's just a firm reminder that kindness and courtesy always wins out over rudeness. I'm from the Northeast but now I know that at heart, I'm a true Southern woman.

When Mrs. Rich wrote this book she was giving away most of our secrets, but, sometimes you must sacrifice for a greater cause. Her book gives insight into the ways of the south and our mannerisms, and she hit the nail on the head. This is a fantastic book!!

I found this book very disappointing. The author makes comments about how exeptional Southern women are without backing it up with examples, as if it some kind of public knowledge.

I was brought up in a rough tough fight or die environment in the northeast,but my heart yearned for feminity and a solid place in home and family.What Southern Women Know has lead me into a new way and realm of thinking, I don't have to be less feminine to get what I want,or be a brute to get my point across. The book could also be applied to men,to help all men remember the Southern Gentleman,who is the counterpart to the Southern Woman.
