Meet the Author

Just this one book, written jointly with Peter Travers. It is a record of a hugely rewarding mid-life adventure, an independent Land Rover journey across the Sahara to West and Central Africa.

Our objective in writing the book was to enable others to share the sights and adventures of our journey - this is an extraordinarily interesting and dramatically colourful part of the world, but few people will ever have a chance to see it.

The print version of the book was published only in New Zealand (where it sold well), but ebook technology has now enabled international publication.

The events described in the book were followed by 9 further journeys in the same Land Rovers over the next several years, through Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, India, and China - 2 or 3 months at a time, and then back to New Zealand to work.

Peter and I were senior executives in large New Zealand corporations prior to the Sahara journey, and have worked since then as independent Directors of public and private companies.
