Overview

What the @$%&! just happened to America? That's the question that Monica Crowley, bestselling author, Fox News political analyst, columnist, and popular nationally syndicated radio host, asks—and answers—in this fast-paced, funny, and sharply argued tour of the country's disastrous years under Barack Obama, and an exuberant call for a great American comeback.

What the @$%&! just happened? What just happened to America? What happened to our strength and greatness? What happened to our constitutionally limited government? What happened to our powerful free market system? What happened to our traditional rocket path of growth? What happened to American jobs? What happened to our prosperity? What happened to the greatest health care system in the world? What happened to our superpower status? What happened to our ability to be respected and feared? What's up with unprecedented spending and record-breaking deficits? Sixteen trillion dollars in debt and counting? What the @$%&! just happened?

In What the (Bleep) Just Happened . . . Again? Monica Crowley offers a rollicking, high-octane, hilarious view of the damage caused by Barack Obama's extremist agenda. But she also sets the stage for the inevitable conservative comeback, calling for a return to the joyful spirit of the Reaganesque "Happy Warrior." She will have you on your feet—cheering for America and what has always made it great—as she rallies us to get our exceptionalist groove back.

Editorial Reviews

Dennis Miller
“Well (bleep) me! What a great (bleeping) book!”
Mark Levin
“A rip-roaring, full-blast, raise the roof, side-splitting account of what the (bleep) just happened over the past few years—-and how we can get our country back. A literary 21-gun salute to freedom.”
Sean Hannity
“This is the book Barack Obama and his pals don’t want you to read. Crowley has the guts to tell the truth about the damage they’ve inflicted. No sugar-coating. No political correctness. Just the facts—and they’re damning. This book is pure dynamite.”
Bill O'Reilly
“Monica Crowley wants to wage war against forces that would wipe out traditional America. But what’s different in her book - is the positive attitude she brings. You’ll be happy to read her words. No (bleep)!”
Larry Kudlow
“Can this nation be saved? Monica Crowley answers with a resounding ‘yes!’ in this brilliant, hilarious page-turner that may well—in fact, should—influence the very future of America.”
Rudolph Giuliani
“A brilliant and persuasive analysis of the relentless assault by the Obama administration on the principles that have made America the most exceptional nation in the world. And, a very well developed presentation of rational optimism - the happy warrior - as the process for restoring American ideals.”
Sarah Palin
“Monica nailed it! This book makes you want to stand up and shout, “(Bleep) no! We won’t concede America’s exceptionalism!” Monica’s writing is exciting, sharp, hot and hip, just like she is.”
Kirkus Reviews
Political smut, slander, fiction, paranoia and conspiracy theories from the last four years are repackaged into this corrosive brew by Fox News contributor and former Nixon foreign policy assistant Crowley (Nixon in Winter: His Final Revelations about Diplomacy, Watergate and Life Out of the Arena, 1998, etc.). Obama's "unaccountable ‘czars'…could operate with impunity," writes the author, "do all of [his] dirty work, and, at the end of a typical workday, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel would hand each of them a sweaty wad of untraceable bills." Throughout the book, this kind of vitriol corrodes any basis for rational discussion. Those who might laugh probably won't check the author's accounting of the stimulus program agreed upon by Congress and the executive branch in 2009, which included "$50 to convince Barbara Mikulski to jump off the ferryboat," and "$500 billion to paint Bill Clinton's face on the side of the pleasure boat." What might they think of those who get free Brazilian waxes and rides on Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Jet Ski thanks to the American taxpayer? As the book progresses, Crowley continues to blend hate- and anger-driven fiction in a strange never-never land of nonsense, in which no government social program, the author writes, "is about their superficial purpose." As expected, in this "war for the nation's future," Crowley wants to "discard the impulse toward social and economic justice" through the gutting of entitlement programs. If we don't act now, she writes, "we'll all speak Arabic, spend Chinese currency, and get abortions at the 7-Eleven." Most of the book is just a restatement of similar xenophobic, snarkily presented sentiment. More bilious pickings for Fox News junkies; all others should take a pass.
