I think Ms Vanderkam has clearly identified the most important part of the day. She is absolutely correct about the importance of getting a jump start on the day and how that can make all of the difference. I hope she will follow this with a book on how to get to bed.
One of the subjects that she mentions gets up early in order to develop their to-do list. I have heard of others who would develop their to-do list in the evening. I guess the point is not morning or evening, but rather to simply write the list.

I ordered this book Wednesday night and finished it on the elliptical machine Thursday morning all in one setting. Great and practical book on how to carve out "me" time to exercise, pray, meditate, etc. I love Laura's writing style and her sense of humor. A must read! As I always look for extra time to myself, this hits the bullseye! Ray Ruecker

Whole book can be summed up in a single paragraph. Multiple ways of saying exactly the same thing without going into any details as to fine tuning if you are already running this sequence of events.

Really enjoyed this book and it inspired me to get back my life back on track. The down-to-earth writing conveys that the time you spend for yourself - in meditation, prayer, exercising or with loved ones - at the beginning of the day sets the tone for not only your day, but for your life. Highly recommend.

Its about time someone wrote a quick easy treatise on time management that is fun practical and easy to implement. I enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more of her work. 168 hours is her other book on this subject and looks to be well worth the time to read.

I found this book to be one of those that you should read once a year, remind yourself of good habits. It takes very little to read but has a profound impact.

there is no breaking news here or even real insight. wake up earlier, we all know this. not worth the cost or the time to read, really felt let down when I learned nothing new or came across any real advice.

The ideas put forth in this book are simple and easy to follow. Even though I was already familiar with some of the points in the book, I have not been very successful at following them. This book helped reinforce to me that taking control of my mornings is not a major task, it just takes a step in the right direction.

Right now my coworker is really taking care of business by fighting with his cable provider on company time, all before 8 AM.
I think this book will give me the stones to do the same thing.
