Overview

For years, Nancy Ringel dreamed of somehow preserving her parents' Holocaust survival stories for posterity. But piecing together the taped interviews, letters, brief memoirs and other documentation seemed an insurmountable task amidst the sadness over her parents' past that engulfed her. Still, she couldn't shave that feeling that putting their experiences into the form of a book is what must be done, especially after both parents had died.

Eventually, with determination and tremendous personal strength, Nancy began working with a freelance writer (who quickly became a friend) to complete one of the most worthy projects of her lifetime.

Nancy emphasizes: "This might not seem like the most important story in the world, but it's our story. It's about my parents' lives, how they affected mine, and how they have and will affect the lives of my sons and grandchildren. It's part of history. These things make it important."
