    exactly what we needed

When my son was diagnosed with cancer we had many questions about everything. We knew we wanted to optimize his immune system as much as possible while he underwent chemotherapy and were fortunate to find this book. I was expecting a 'what to eat' book, but the authors explain cancer from the cellular level, different types of cancer, as well as foods to eat and foods to avoid. The index, charts, illustrations, etc are excellent. The nutritional information is excellent. While he was hospitalized even nurses were impressed enough to say they'd be ordering a copy for their own use. The nutritionist that consulted with my son was impressed with the book also. Excellent for anyone wanting to improve overall health, and especially those with weakened immune systems. Perfect for someone going through a health crisis like cancer. My son got the first copy I ordered, but I was so impressed I ordered my own copy. I give it high marks because it answered so many of our questions and is not a book to be read and then left on a shelf.
