Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The cartoon-style illustrations in this board book, which is part of the "What's that sound?" series, are not as engaging as its companion book By the Sea. This board book really must be read aloud since the emphasis is on sounds. Kids go to the circus where poodles howl a song, drums roll, tigers snap and roar, and the fans clap because they do not want the show to end. Parents and caregivers will have to make an extra effort to bring the sounds out and share the excitement of an event that little ones may have yet to experience—attending a circus performance. The book might be more effective with older special needs kids who find board books easier to manipulate.
