Overview

Wheat Rippling in the Sunlight is a chronological lifetime collection of poems that record events, exhibit love of place, and honor people Paul Douglas Thompson has known.

A long period of no writing ended in 1986 when the author attended a personal growth workshop and began once again to write poetry. The prose poem “I am a Gentle and Loving Man” and the stream–of-consciousness “In Flight” began this period of renewed expression. More details are in “Notes,” at the end of the collection.

A western artist, Andrew W. Lewis, drew the illustrations inspired by his reading of the poems.
