Overview

White women are lovely human beings that demand respect with every step they take in life. The transformation of White women from decade to decade amazes me tremendously because in the midst of their change, the toils of life differ but the determination to complete them has not change. However, the same sensitive heart that evokes love and frustration from friends and family, her relationships and marriages still leave White women frustrated and unappreciated. More importantly, there are numerous of issues that make White women cry, the loss of children, break down in marriages, cheating, or economic struggles. White women cry because sometime love or society impels them to make choices that depreciate their self-worth, health and parental skills, which is consequential to the development of America.
Moreover, White women must continue to cry, because in their tears children are born, frustrated tears bring forth vigorous efforts to positive change and it is when White women hurt that elucidate realistic roads that lead to self-improvement. Whether it is anger or pain, that engenders wisdom, planted seeds love and self-advancement would energize the soul to renewed aspirations. If White women stop crying and let anger force their hand, love would become recalcitrant to sensitive touches, children would become motherless and the streets would have new members on the edge ready to destroy the peace in communities. So cry White women, let your tears soak new meaning to the soil of this life, which will grow new flowers that will enlighten minds, so love and not violence or disrespect would rule the ground that produce loving families.

I too stumbled upon this book after reading and absolutely loving The Hunger Games. Yes, I was surprised at the title but more surprised by the reviews... Do a search for "When a Black Woman" and you get several results- including a very comparable "When a Black Woman Cries." Interestingly enough, not one has any negative reviews suggesting prejudice or racism. Double standard, no? I didn't read this book but I find it odd that we're so mad at the white author while the black author receives praise. I wonder if it would sway anybody's opinion one way or another if I declared my race before writing this...

Every one needs to settle down. It is JUST A BOOK! And omg so what if it is just about white women. This book should not promote suicidal of violent actions. Suzanne Collins called this book what she wanted to call it. You have no right to shun this poor author for a stupid book. I am 12 years old and my hormones have not even kicked in, but jeeze you guys are over reacting! If you fimd it offensive, keep your mouth shut. NOBODY GIVES A RATS PATOOTIE!!!! JESUS YOU ALL NEED TO SETTLE DOWN!

OMG people.... its FINALLY about the white woman! Get over it... double standard people! Its OKAY and even WONDERFUL when someone write exclusively about the black woman but unacceptable to write about the white woman?????? It is becoming offensive and downright prejudice to be able to "praise" all things black but not white. Most black women defend each other; even not knowing each other so why is it wrong for white sisters to do the same???? Another reason for white women to cry...how sad! Great book, great and brave author to have written this, probably knowing in her heart the insults she would have to endure. Five stars for you my sister!

This is NOT the same woman that wrote the Hunger Games. If you're going to bash someone, at least make sure you have the right person, people.

After reading all three of the hunger games, i was looking for more books by her. I saw this book and then i read the reviews. Almost every comment is of bashing this author. If you search up "when a black woman crys" that books has good reviews. I dont understand when a white person writes a book with the title "when a white woman cries" gets horrible reviews but, when a black person writes a book with the title "when a black woman cries" they get praise. That is being racist and judgemental. I will keep reading all of her books and will support this author!!

This author has done it again. The passion of how she put words together is clear art and magic. This book shows you the wonderful, strong and concern side of white women. This book should be for all women, because all women go through the same and need support. Strongly Recommend this book!

This book reflect personal experiences that identify different scenarios women have in their relationships, marriages or dating. I love the chapter where the daughter reaches out to her father that has been absent in her lives. A strong father figure is important because it helps build a foundation that strengthen the self-esteem of women. Suzanne Collins is the best!

I'm African American and I am not at all moved one way or another by this title. It doesn't matter who wrote it. That's why we have the 1st amendment. You would think by now, all the black and white issues would have been covered. LOL! BTW... I am going to read this one too. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is not the author who who wrote the hunger games. Whoever wrote this book is NOT racist they also have a book titled when a black woman cries. However there is not a bunch of people wtiting hateful comments that claim she is racist for that book. Please dont claim she is racist or compare this book to the hunger games or say you arent ever going to read another suzanne collins book. Write reviews on the quality of the book instead of clogging it up with raicist comments or anti-hunger games. :)

You guys need to calm down about the racist thing. The author is just writing about the HISTORY of white women. And, believe it or not, it was different from other races of women. Just because the book focus on white women doesnt mean this book is about white supremecy. Go read it before you judge.

I have experienced depression for years in my marriage. I always blamed myself for an unsuccessful marriage and went to counselors myself and was at one point suicidal. When I read this book, it really made things clear that I was devalued as a person by my husband. When you feel devalued by the ones who are close to you, you become depressed. It is like a revolving door conflicts keep returning and it seems the relationship does not improve. I was screaming for love and attention for years and not getting it. If you are feeling devalued by your spouse or other, you have got to read this book.

Some of you clearly lack any critical thinking skills. Did it never occur to you that the author of The Hunger Games didn't write this book? Have you seen the movie "Idiocracy"? Reading some of these reviews leads me to believe that the film was prophetical.
