Overview

Fear in a woman’s life can be controlling, deceptive, and downright crippling.  Even as a Christian woman from a well-known family of pastors and Christian leaders, Cheryl Brodersen knew this kind of fear and hated the control it had over her world.  Growing up, she often felt the scrutiny and judgment of people around her and this just added to the fear.  Wanting to hide away from everyone, she realized fear was determining her decisions and life direction.

In the midst of the pain God spoke to Cheryl’s heart and she began a beautiful journey toward freedom. As she understood His word more deeply she saw what it meant to walk in the light—full of confidence and trust in God and His goodness. As a gifted Bible teacher, Cheryl takes readers on an eye-opening and heart-filling study of what the Bible says about fear and how to overcome it, helping women find true faith and the peace that comes from leaving fear behind.

Let Go Of All That Fear!

Fear comes in many forms. Avoiding a potentially dangerous situation represents a healthy fear. However, unhealthy fears like fears of rejection or loss often cause women to live with worry, stress, and without confidence. In her book, When a Woman Lets Go of Her Fears, Cheryl Brodersen shares stories from her own struggle with fear, exposes fear and its effects, and shows women how to move past fear into faith and victory.

When a Woman Lets Go of Her Fears is not the type of book to sit down and read from beginning to end in four hours. It took me several months to read this book as I read only a few sections each day. While not everyone would want to read it as slowly as I did, I recommend reading no more than a chapter a day. Reading each day about the same topic has a way of enforcing the information and spiritual lessons into one's memory.

Though I think the book could have used a bit more humor, the author effectively connects with the reader by sharing her personal struggles. I loved the story of the "pity biscuits." I won't give away any spoilers, but it was a situation that I could completely relate to.

Brodersen packs information, doctrine, and plenty of encouragement into the book. I found the content of the book to be Biblically correct. The questions at the end of each chapter were relevant and thought-provoking. I recommend this book to any woman struggling with fear and lack of confidence.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Harvest House Publishers as part of their Blogger Review Program. I was not required to write a positive review. An Exceptional Book

Cheryl Brodersen's When a Woman Lets Go of Her Fears is an amazing book! I love it! It is wonderfully Spirit-breathed, helpful, and hopeful. Not only is it fun to read, it is so well written! It thrills me to realize how much this book will help others, and not just women! I think young people, our guys, and those out there trying to help others will find this book an excellent resource. All of us as human beings are driven by fear!

As a reviewer I have a long list of requirements for recommending a good book, When a Woman Lets Go of Her Fears meets them all. I happily realize what an exception this is. And because of this I feel it is another book that is going to become one of the classics!
