Overview

On their 2006 debut When All That's Left Is You, Minneapolis quintet Quietdrive mix up elements from the last three decades of alt rock. There's more than a hint of '80s new wave and college rock, most prominently on a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," but also in their cavernous drums, old-school synths, and pulsating guitar rhythms, plus the occasional sugary singalong chorus. But their basic style is grounded in '90s alt rock, in its surging guitar rock explorations of angst, anthemic choruses, and flourishes of blink-182-styled punk-pop. At its heart, When All That's Left Is You is a thoroughly modern rock record -- pretty and processed, neurotic and narcissistic, clean, crisp, and professional -- so it plays smoothly.

I don't actually have any of their CD's as of right now, but I really want them! The only reason I heard of this band in the first place is because they came to my school to talk and preform for us! I fell in love with their music right away! Absolutely great band!

ten tracks of debut album goodness. multiple radio hit possibilities. no songs you'll skip. sony/epic made a wise choice by letting them use their own material. keep an eye on these guys-- definitely among today's hottest rising artists! buy this album and nourish your musical soul.

Wow! Just when I thought they couldn't get better, these guys...well...do! They're amazingly creative lyrics and wicked melodies make this one of the best releases of 2006! They have some great songs including my fabourite, I Lie Awake (which is awesome by the way) and these guys are one of the best bands of the year. So hear em out then make a decision!

Quietdrive's new cd "When All That's Left Is You" is just awesome! This is a cd you have to get. From the first track "Rise From The Ashes" to the last track "Both Ways", these songs keep you wanting for more. I highly recomed this album to any rock music fan. The lyrics in the songs are amazing, you can just imagine the words in scenes from your head. This is a great album to listen to while skating, driving, or even just chillin'. I never thought this album would be this good. It's beyond upon greater my expectations.

When you listen to this album for the first time, it is way too hard to resist not listening to it again. You're just so full of awe and amazement by all of the songs, with the guitars, pianos, strings, and awesome vocalization that you want to listen to all the songs over and over again. This album is by far my favorite this year and it will be for a very long time. Take a listen to these guys--You won't regret it! They're way too talented for words! =]

While I wish it was a bit longer, Quietdrive's first album on Epic records is awesome: it's catchy, fun, and great to sing along to. The album starts with the high-energy first single "Rise From the Ashes," which works to catch the listeners attention. The other two songs from the Fall From the Ceiling EP, "Maybe Misery" and "Take a Drink," are also included, as well as new versions of many songs from the Leaving Dramatics CD. As far as Leaving Dramatics songs go, I think "The Season" in particular is much improved - it's been sped up and some of the lyrics changed, making it more upbeat and catchier. While it's not my favorite, fans of the Leaving Dramatics version of "Both Ways" will love the addition of the string section in the new one. Oh, and don't miss "Let Me Go In." One of the new songs, it is my personal favorite.

This is a great CD. Although it doesn't sound much like them live. It still has great rythem and lyrics and all that you need to make a good cd great. Butch Walker did great at the production. If your feeling a little down and out or upitty this is the perfect CD for you all the songs you need for all emotions of the day.

I saw this band live and fell in love with their music. Shortly after the concert I bought the CD and can't say enough good things about it. My favorite song is Get Up, but I can't find a song I don't like on this album. The lyrics are awesome, the guitars and drums are amazing, and the songs are super cathcy. You'll find yourself belting out thses songs at the top of your lungs while driving around with the windows down. And once you get this CD, go see them in concert, because these guys rock the stage!
