Editorial Reviews

Cara Bruce
The story is surprisingly believable, and the characters deep, likeable and intriguing. Lewis not only manages to tell a great story, but one overflowing with hot sex scenes. Writing good sex is harder than it may sound, and writing a great novel is close to impossible, yet Lewis does both amazingly well. "When Hearts Collide" is sure to be a hit. If anyone can make this new genre of erotic romance a steaming success, it will definitely be Marilyn Jaye Lewis.

When Hearts Collide is the kind of book that you can sit down and read cover to cover without stopping. I found the book to be very well written. A very beautiful love story about two people meeting again for the first time in ten years and finding that they have more in common than either believed was possible. I enjoyed this book so much that I actually read it twice before sitting down to write this review. If you are into the erotic scene, this is a book that I would highly recommend that you read as well as add to your keeper shelf. If you are offended by love scenes and the explicit telling of those love scenes you might want to skip this book. All in all I highly recommend this book.

The story flowed and was believable, I'd highly recommend this book. The sex scenes were varied, plentiful and HOT! I'm looking forward to other books by this author and she will definitely be on my TBB list.—Sensual Romance.com

When Hearts Collide is a very likeable and pleasant book to read, one that doesn't pull any punches as the two main characters realize that the other is just the sort of person they have been searching for all their adult lives...I liked the honesty of this novel - a nice change from the silliness that often plagues the genre of erotica. There are plenty of hot sex scenes that keep the story rolling along; with Evan and Dorianne tumbling into bed at almost every opportunity. A good romantic story, one that I liked very much...this was such a good read that I'm calling this book a must buy... I look forward to seeing other books from Magic Carpet in the future.

If you like erotica, you will love this book by Marilyn Jaye Lewis. She creates love scenes between these two lovers that make you feel like you are there. The story and love scenes will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride of hate and lust. Overall rating: 3 Hearts. Sensuality rating: Explicit — Tracy Amor

This novel pulls you right inside it with some of the most daring sexual passion I've ever seen in this genre. Lewis conveys characters with a depth that elevates them above the cartoonish sort that often fill out the usual romance novel.

    predictable & trite

Very easy to skip whole sections & still know the story - just not worth the time, and only mildly erotic. Don't believe the hype on this one!

A page turner (but not Tina Turner)

Loved it! I was up with it all night, along with my S.O. In fact, we did a little bit of reader's theater with some of the passages. Wish it could've lasted longer.

    An engaging, entertaining read

An entertainment journalist gets up-close-and-personal with one of her interview subjects -- but not without a game of cat and mouse that's both entertaining and tittilating. As always, Marilyn's work is exquisitely paced and her characters are believeable and likeable. You'll enjoy this a lot.

    Great Summer Read

This was my first erotic romance novel and now I am hooked. I took this book to the Bahamas with me and I finished it in one day at the beach. I then let my roommate borrow it on her vacation and she begged me to find more books like this. I now own 6 erotic books...keep 'em coming!

    Wow! This was fun!

I have never had much luck with romance books. I have tried to read several over the years because they were recommended by friends, but I'd never actually finished any of them. The writing was never very good, the characters weren't believable, and the books just weren't satisfying. I finally agreed to read this one because someone I really respect kept raving about it. Was I ever surprised! This book was soooo good. All the characters were believable. I was really pulling for the main character, Dory. I could see a lot of myself in her. She had some of the same disappointments in life I have had. Still, she just kept trying. I really wanted to see her get the most out of life. I really cared about what happened to these characters, especially Dory, so I didn't want to put the book down. I read it in record time and now I can't wait to get my hands on more books by Marilyn Jaye Lewis. And yes, the sex is really hot. It was really exciting and contributed a lot to this book being believable and so much better than other romances I had tried.

When Good Writing and Juicy Scenes Collide

When Hearts Collide, about the passionate and tribulation-laden romance between Dorianne, a magazine writer, and Evan, a Hollywood star, is at once tender and provocative. Readers familiar and unfamiliar alike with Marilyn Jaye Lewis' work will welcome the crackling, innovative sex scenes. Readers will encounter, as well, characters searching for and capable of love. Hearts contains the hallmarks of Lewis' oeuvre: intelligent writing and characters you give a damn about after you turn the final page. For those who know Lewis' writing, here's another goodie. For those who don't, here's a most enjoyable introduction.

    A Sweet, Sexy, Perfect Romance

When Hearts Collide is sexy, sweet, and delightful, and contains the perfect blend of erotic sensuality and romance. Marilyn Jaye Lewis has written a heartwarming tale that will have you rooting for Evan and Dorianne to overcome his high profile Hollywood status and her reluctance to love again after being burned. Full of mixed signals, jealousy, a rich, engaging plot and, ultimately, true love, When Hearts Collide is a hot romance that will have you eagerly turning the pages and smiling when you do finally turn the last one.
