Instead, she's anxiously awaiting the life-insurance settlement that will pay off his gambling debts. Marcia has video evidence that appears to implicate Gina in Chico's death. Faced with the likelihood of a jail sentence and the certain loss of the insurance settlement, Gina succumbs to Marcia's blackmail demands. And what Marcia wants is that Gina kill her husband Stanley. What follows is a comic mystery caper that will keep readers both laughing and eagerly reading to discover what is really behind Marcia's increasingly crazed demands.

"A frothy and breezy read...It's the kind of book that would be easily brought with you on a trip."

"Through Wan's storytelling, the reader is drawn into Gina's story of hard luck and battles alongside Gina as she tries to do what is right. Suspense is built throughout as Gina struggles with her inner demons...A good read, well written. Highly Recommended."

Children's Literature - Heather Welsh
Gina Lopez is a postal worker by day and a mud wrestler by night, all to barely pay the bills. Of course, she would not have to work so hard if she could only get the two hundred and fifty thousand dollars from her deceased husband's life insurance policy. This proves to be far easier said than done when an eye witness comes forward with a video that calls Gina's innocence into question concerning her husband, Chico's, death. The video seems to show Gina pushing Chico off a cliff, but that was not what happened at all. According to Gina, it was Chico who tried to push her off the cliff. Nevertheless, the insurance company is already dragging its feet and would jump at a chance to deny Gina the money. Using this information to her advantage, the eye witness wants Gina to kill someone for her in exchange for her silence. Caught between a rock and a hard place, Gina must make a tough decision. Either way, her life is going to become infinitely more complicated. How will she get out of this sticky situation? The vocabulary and word choice could be read by a fifth grader, but it also contains several instances of adult or mature language, which would not be appropriate for younger readers. The book gets off to a slow start due to the fact that the first eight pages are solely about mud wrestling, but then it picks up its pace and is a quick read. Reviewer: Heather Welsh

"I was hiking up on Lover's Leap that day. I saw you struggling with a man at the edge of the cliff. I saw you push him over!"

"You're crazy!" I shook my head and backed away from her. That wasn't how it happened.

This story is listed as a Rapid Reads book and that is what it was. Short, sweet, and to the point. Perfect when you need a quick fix book.

The story was about Gina Lopez and her somewhat comical attempt to become a cold blooded killer. She didn’t start out trying to be a killer, but Marcia Beekland has some rather damning evidence that makes it look like Gina killed her husband. In order to keep Marcia from going to the cops with the evidence, Gina decides to attempt murder.

This story made me laugh as I read about Gina’s stumbling and bumbling attempts at murder. She hasn’t got a clue about killing and is just trying to wing it. I kept thinking she was going to get herself killed if she kept on the way she was going.

I know this wasn’t a regular crime novel filled with forensic science and police procedures, but it sure was a fun read.
