Great book BUT it only has 86 pages. It ropes u into buying the next 2 books which have a small numbers of pages also. It's worth the read if you don't mind feeling like you got ripped off. The product details says it has 226, that's a lie

KNOX & MCKENNA – You’re ripping my heart out!! Finishing this book, I have gone into full-on ‘NEED MORE KNOX & McKENNA’ time now! Kendall Ryan left me hanging with When I Break and I KNEW this one would as well. I went in willingly. Because really, it’s all about Knox. (And McKenna, of course!) And I just couldn’t wait to read this installment in the When I Break series even knowing I’ll have to wait another month for the final one. As much as I loved Knox and McKenna in When I Break, I loved them even more in this book. Their chemistry is off the charts. Knox is sexy, naughty, and on the verge of falling back into his same addicting ways again. McKenna continues to struggle with her desires for Knox against the expectations as his counselor. I’ll admit, this did give me some pause, but it’s fiction and I’m happy to suspend my belief. And of course, there’s some moments with McKenna’s roommate that had me biting my nails wondering what was going to happen! Overall, I loved the ease in which Kendall Ryan delivers a dual POV, dialogue that has me turning pages, and a steam factor that put a blush on my cheeks! C’mon May…I need the next book!

Knox and McKenna try and forge more of a relationship together.  McKenna, although a counselor and something she went to college for, still does not deal with the ramifications of her parent's death.  She blames herself and volunteers as penance for her parent's death.  Knox still has no idea how to be in a relationship so he fumbles his way through trying to protect his heart while trying to keep McKenna happy. Brian spends most of his time trying to get McKenna to give him a chance and even goes so far as to say he is who her parents would have wanted her to be with.  I would give it 3.5 stars and felt that McKenna was a little too preoccupied with volunteering and not really living. It ended on another cliffhanger so book three here I come.

I absolutely love this series. I never thought I would be so into a book that had to do with sex addiction. But was I wrong, the story line and the characters got me staying up all night. I could not put this book down. Can't wait to read the 3rd book!!

I was gifted this book from the Author for an honest review. I gave this book 5 stars.  This is book 2 in the When I Break Series YES you need to read book one in order to read this book This is a continuation of McKenna and Knox's story. This leaves off where Knox and McKenna left off after her confrontation at the sex addicts meeting. McKenna is un sure of her relationship with Knox and she is really struggling with this man that she has fallen so deeply in love with.  She is not sure if Knox is being faithful or if he loves her back. After all that Knox has been through it is hard for him to express the way he is feeling and is not able to tell McKenna that he loves her, he is not even sure he is capable of loving anyone ever again after losing the people so close to him. Once he figures out his feelings will he be able to express them? And will it be to late?  This book does have another cliff hanger. There will be a final book 3. Those invested in seeing what happens to this couple might feel a little pang when they reach the end and realize that it's not the end. But it is not such a cliffhanger where you will fling your kindle across the room.  I cannot wait for the conclusion to this story. I fell more in love with these two in this book. They are so good for each other and the way they have been labeled (sex addict, counselor) makes it hard for them. Life makes it hard for them. But when they put down their walls they are beautiful together and when they finally realize that it's going to be AMAZING!! Thank you Kendall for another beautiful part of this story. I look forward to reading the last part!! I am burning in anticipation  for that HEA!!!

4.5 Captivating Stars!!! I was waiting for more Knox but this book was so good that I devoured it in one sitting.  I enjoyed When I Break but When I Surrender was even better.  This is one of the first "series" by Kendall and she does not disappoint....she dropped a bombshell at the end of Book 1 and continued to take you on the roller coaster that is Knox and McKenna. This book had me all over the place.  There were times I felt bad for Knox, times I wanted to shake McKenna and tell her to suck it up and get over herself.  We get more of the intrusive, overbearing roommate Brian (not a fan) and his dislike for McKenna's "relationship" with Knox.  Relationship, is that what they have?  Sometimes it seemed liked it was a 2 steps forward 3 steps back dance throughout.  Knox and McKenna couldn't get out of their own way.  Just when things looked like they were heading in the right direction one of them would pull back.  McKenna still carrying guilt from her parents death and Knox trying to get a handle on managing his vices.  These two were enough to make me want to drink. While taking time apart, they both begin to realize that what they have may be something worth fighting for.  Something worth changing for. But will that realization come too late?   Go grab your copy of When I Surrender, catch up with Knox and McKenna and see where the story goes.  I can tell you that upon finishing you will be begging for the next installment, When I Fall coming May 2014.
