Overview

Nate:

It's nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I've witnessed it-I've seen the power of it-but I've also seen the pain. Because for me, I've only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I'm not sure I can because I only feel complete when I'm with her.

Emberlyn:

The only time I feel like I belong is when he's near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I'm not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I'm with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn't understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

I love this book! I love how it shows love will always Prevail in the end. You may not get true love in the beginning but if it was meant to be everlasting love will be yours in the end!

absolutely amazing. Nate and Ember have known each other their whole lives. She has loved him for years. When she tells him she loves him when she is 18 it doesn't go as she had hoped. Nate being older felt she was too young and their families would not approve. So he rejects her. She of course is heartbroken. What she doesn't know is that her feelings are returned. He just doesn't think its the right time. With the dads that they both have, protective, loving, and strong Nate doesn't think they would accept their relationship with Ember being so young. So it takes some years for them to "find" each other but it was so worth the wait. He is secure in his professional life and she is an amazing artist. It's time for them to work on their forever. It was so great to see all the characters from Corps Security and their families. They are all one big happy family. You don't have to be blood to be family and this group definitely proves that. Cannot wait to see who is next.

Love this series. Just as good as their parents stories

This was my least favorite book in the series so far. The female character was to whiny and neefy for me. Im not a bog fan of the age difference either. There is a big maturity difference in 21 and 30. I know it's a book, but sometimes it's the little things.

Nate and Ember?!?!?! Yes, please!!!! Those were my initial thoughts about this book, I love Harper Sloan and her Corps Security series and now with the Hope Town series we get to see a lot more from all our favorite characters. Nate became my instant favorite after that prologue! I was so so excited to keep reading, it was the best thing to hook me into the story. So, Ember has liked Nate for a long time but it always seems like he isn’t interested and even when she spells it out for him he is still not interested, but the truth is that Nate is fighting his feelings for her, he has is own reasons and all of them are very valid even if they hard to accept. At one point the reasons go out the window and the love story between them starts to grow, true to the series we have many many swoony speeches by Nate, we have scenes full of drama and angst, we also have a bit of mystery thrown in, all to make a wonderful and strong love story. I truly enjoyed it and of course after finishing it I’m left with one question, Who’s next? 

Ember has known Nate her whole life and has been in love with him for much of it. Ember gets up the courage to tell Nate how she really feels and he does what he thinks is best for her and lets her down easy. At the age of 18, Nate thinks Ember needs to make her own way and find herself before settling down. Fast forward another couple of years and another incident pretty much cements her need to stay away from him in order to guard her heart. Nate has no recollection of what transpired a couple of years prior so he doesn't understand why Ember avoids and ignores him at all costs. When the truth comes out, Nate is left trying to get Ember to understand where he was coming from. Ember is twice bitten and even more gun-shy now so she doesn't trust what he tells her at first. Nate knows he has his work cut out for him in order to even have a chance at gaining her love and trust. Nate goes all in and works to show her how he feels because he knows words won't be enough. Ember's recent ex is hell bent on making her life miserable and, even though she doesn't catch onto what he is going, she almost pays a terrible price for her ignorance. Her last run-in with Levi sends Nate into over-protective mode and it becomes his mission to move things forward at a fast pace with Ember. The story was well told and the plot flowed well and seemed to be true to both characters. The epilogues were nicely done and this book was a great addition to the series.

OMG I absolutely love Nathaniel "Nate" Reid!! What a man!! Emberlyn "Ember" Locke is a very lucky girl!! The love, admiration and respect that these two have for each other was absolutely beautiful. I completely enjoyed reading their journey to their happily ever after. No, the ride wasn't smooth, but it well worth the trip. I have to say that When I'm With You is the best of the Hope Town series, and this is coming from a girl who absolutely loved the 2 prior books in the series. I wish I could give this one 6 stars!! Harper Sloan's ability to grab her reader from page go and hold the reader's attention until the very end shines brilliantly in this one. I am telling you that Harper Sloan's writing and storytelling abilities get better and better with each subsequent book that she releases. I loved how Harper Sloan was able to weave into the story similarities to what their parents went through in reaching their HEAs, but adding those special twists that made the story uniquely Nate and Ember's. And speaking of parents, I have to say Maddox Locke gets better and better with each subsequent book!! What a man, father and protector!! Every girl needs a Maddox Locke and Nate Reid in her corner. If you have not read this one yet, I highly recommend that you drop what you are doing and get started on this one...and if you haven't started the series...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??!! Not only do you get the kids of the Corps Security gang, but you get the Corps Security gang as well!! And yes, that includes Sway!! I love Sway!! I do not know if there will be another book in this series, but I am seriously hoping that there will, since there are more children and I think they all need their own books. Hopefully, Harper Sloan will hear my cry and grant my wish!!! Bravo on a job so well done, Harper Sloan. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for her readers next, all I know is that whatever it is, I will be along for the ride.

Oh My God!!! Harper Sloan and her alphas are an amazing combination! Once again she doesn't disappoint in the continuation of the Hope Town Series. The way that she forms her characters and how the interact with each other throughout not only the book but the series in general, it is hard NOT to feel everything with them as the storyline unfolds. This wait was so worth it and I can honestly say that without a doubt I feel so content finishing Nate and Ember's story. I always love seeing how Harper is going to differ her alpha from the last one. It just amazes me how even though they all get that cave man tendency, she has instilled in each character such a vibrate personality and allows the alpha to form within that personality and wow yeah it is amazing to see it unveil each time. Will be waiting patiently (okay so not patiently) for her next book and I can't wait to see whose story is next!

When the heroine's father is Maddox Locke, and her hero's dad is Axel Reid, their love story can't help but be great. While the reader knows that Nate and Ember love each other and should be together, their journey there does not disappoint. You get all the stuff you loved with the Corp Security books and the first 2 Hope Town books plus more. Alpha male falls for his lady love. What could be a better story?

Really, five stars are just not enough!!!! You know, one of the worst book hangovers I ever had was from a Harper Sloan book!!! Beck, to be exact. But I have loved each and every book this woman writes and she just continues to blow me away with each new story. Greg Cage has been my ultimate book boyfriend since I read his book 2 1/2 years ago and Uncaged has been my favorite book (of Harper's) since I read it, but I really think When I'm With You might just come within striking distance!!! Since I really don't want to give anything away I'll leave you with this: It is entirely possible that Nate Reid may take the place of Greg Cage in my heart!!!! I freaking loved the relationship between he and Ember. The love, oh my, would that we all could be loved like that!!!!

5 star I was pulled right into this story. This story contains suspense, love, secrets, heartbreak, betrayal, and pain. I recommend reading the other books that tie into this series before reading this one Axel (Corps Security, #1) Cage (Corps Security, #2) Beck (Corps Security, #3) Uncaged (Corps Security, #3.5) Cooper (Corps Security, #4) Locke (Corps Security #5) Unexpected Fate (Hope Town #1) Bleeding Love (Hope Town #2) This is Emberlyn and Nate's story. Emberlyn is in love with Nate. She pours her heart out and confesses her love only for him to break her heart. He tells her she does not know her own feelings. So they move on and grow up. Years later a few words make her do anything she can to avoid Nate. She only sees him at family events which she usually does not attend if she can help it. She still finds ways to avoid him at those. When he forces her to spend time with him all it takes is one word to make her pain and hurt come to the surface. When he finally finds out what he did he is blown away. Not he knows he has to prove his love and not just say the words. He will do anything to make her believe but will she still want him? Of has she moved on? Can Nate make up for the past hurts? Or will he have one pissed off father to deal with when he hurts his baby? Can he prove his love with words and actions? I love how you get glimpses of the parents from the last series in this. You get updates on some but get a up close and personal of Locke (and boy was I in need of a Locke fix). Highly recommend this book and can’t wait for more of this series.
