I'm not a student planning to study abroad. But I do make trips to London each year to visit friends, and one day just might move there. This book provides a huge range of useful information for staying in London long term. It covered everything from how to open up a bank account, to where to go for a cheap or free date. The biggest part is it teaches you how to live like a "local", which you really neeed if you are gonna stay there any length of time.
I plan to bring this book along on my next trip there and have my best friend there take a look at it too.
