On their 23rd album, Alabama simultaneously stretch out and stay at home. The title track is a declaration of Southern pride that kicks off the album with elements of Memphis-style funk, Jacksonville-bred twin guitar lines, and gospel-inflected female backing vocals. Overview

On their 23rd album, Alabama simultaneously stretch out and stay at home. The title track is a declaration of Southern pride that kicks off the album with elements of Memphis-style funk, Jacksonville-bred twin guitar lines, and gospel-inflected female backing vocals. That ruckus is followed by "The Woman He Loves," one of the finest ballads the group has ever recorded, which is carried home by a gritty, expressive Randy Owen vocal. The 13 other tracks are firmly rooted in the quartet's trademark country-pop-rock style. Pay particular attention to the soaring, heart-tugging "Love Remains," which features a guest vocal by Christopher Cross.
