When My Heart Finds Christmas

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
For this Christmas jazz album, Harry Connick, Jr. emphasizes his vocals his piano playing is quite secondary as he sings ten familiar Christmas songs plus four of his somewhat forgettable originals while joined by a big band, a string section, and background singers. The results are reasonably pleasing, but of little interest to jazz listeners.

    A must have

Not being a very big fan of Christmas Music, there are very few Christmas albums that are worth buying. This is one of them. Harry never fails to take a good song and make it better. Even my 20 month old son had fun listening to this album. It's one that will definitly stand the test of time.

Exceptional! Gets you in the mood for the Holidays.

It is my favorite Christmas CD. Love Harry Connick, Jr. His renditions are the best, especially ''When My Heart Finds Christmas''. His voice renders itself to these mellow Christmas tunes. He really knows how to put together an album.

    Move over Frank

Even for those who haven't yet experienced Harry Connick, Jr., this is probably the best Christmas album to come out in the past ten years. He can do it all - concerto (O Holy Night), big band (Sleigh Ride) and my personal favorite, ''What Are You Doing New Years' Eve''. I play this song every Christmas, starting in September! You can't go wrong at all.

This is the best Christmas CD ever!

I bought this CD when it first came out 8 years ago and it is still the only CD I play every year without fail. And I can play it anytime of year. I love all of his interpretations of traditional holiday songs as well as his own. But the song that gets me everytime is the title track ''When My Heart finds Christmas'' - when he hits the bridge I get a lump in my throat thinking of family and Christmas and memories. This CD is definitely a keeper!

Harry Adds That Extra Special Swingin Holiday Cheer!

It's always a pleasure to dust off and take out this holiday CD from my CD cabinet every year. Harry did an excellent job with this album, and it shows. My Favorites are the hip version to ''Sleigh Ride'', and ''What Are You Doin New Years?''. He has such a gorgeous, and sexy voice! It blends rather nicely with my Nat King Cole holiday CD, especially Nat's version of ''The Christmas Song'' and my cabaret holiday CD's that I got on-line, like Andrea Marcovicci's ''December Songs'', and Michael Poss' ''Christmas in Chicago''. These singers really know how to melt your heart for the holidays! If I could, I would snuggle up with Harry Connick, Jr., anytime. He's hot!
